Treadmill

I've trained Muppet to walk/run on our treadmill. I used treats in the beginning, but gradually faded them out for obvious reasons. It's an effective form of exercise, but he doesn't enjoy it like…Continue

I like the idea of the touch the balloon game. Does it scare Willow if it breaks? That would be the one thing I'd worry about with Guinness.

Something we do with Annie is fill a bone with treats and let her play with it trying to find out whats inside.

Check out this website.....www.caninefreestyle.com. I'm thinking of ordering the first video and giving this a try. It really looks like so much fun.

No, we haven't. This is our first winter with Muppet so we haven't done anything yet! But we go sledding every year, so I'm sure we will be taking Muppet. I think it would be good to start on a small hill first, before taking them on a big one, which might just really scare them so they won't like it.

Has anyone ever tried tobogganing with your Doodles? We have a huge hill where we could take Guinness, but I'm wondering if he would like it?

Guinness and I also play ball on the stairs. To me it's good exercise when it's raining outside. We also play treats in the bottle, when we empty a plastic club soda bottle(taking the paper wrap off..also the cap & plastic ring at the top) I fill it with treats or just small amount of kibbles. He throws it around the room to get the treats out, most times it takes awhile he give it up when it is empty.

We play come instead of ball on the stairs to keep the dogs speed at a reasonable level and to prevent hip problems or bangs and falls. You can also play the same game from the front to the back of the house. We also play come and find it as someone else mentioned. Searching for hidden treats is great fun too.

I think using stairs is a great idea, as long as it is safe for their hips. I'd imagine if their hips are normal and healthy (no dysplasia) than it would be fine.
