Hi Photography People!
I need a new photo for the Recommended Brands section of The Food Group. Would love to have a really nice one from one of you excellent photographers!
Info here: https://doodlekisses.com/group/thefoodgroup/forum/topics/wanted-pho...
Thanks!
I know some of you are not on FB, but I did a calendar of my dogs in their hats this year. All profits are going to dog rescue. If anyone is interested, here is the link. There are two calendars. I used the exact same photos, but one has colored borders that frame the photos. The other does not. Please feel free to take a look. It was a fun learning process and I am excited that my dogs can help other dogs in need. https://www.cafepress.com/vintagemadhatter
I miss the monthly discussions and would look forward to Laurie starting a holiday discussion.
Why don’t you start one? We need a little action and nobody does holidays like you.
Anything going on in the PG? Does anyone want to do a discussion on Holiday shots?
Donna, that is interesting. I don't find importing and working with the raw any more complicated than jpg. Maybe Lightroom is the reason. You can set up an import preset and have it look almost exactly the same as the jpg, with the caveat that you can change things because it is just information sitting on top of your raw file instead of being baked into the file and permanent like with jpg.
I have my neighbor using a point and shoot with Mac photos program shooting raw. She uploads directly to facebook all the time. She is far from tech savvy. She gets confused between what is on the computer and what is on the internet. And it's "WiFive" no matter how many times I correct her.
Donna, Congratulations on your new camera. I have owned the D750 for several years. Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy mine.
Nancy, I shoot both JPeg and raw for a couple of reasons. I don't want to have to edit all my photos, when shooting Quincy I wanted a back up plan for his eyes and any blown our areas and I don't have the editing capabilities right now. When I upload photos I go through and dump the raw files that I don't need. Once I get Lightroom and learn how to use it that could change. :>)
I would advise getting Lightroom and really learning it. Okay I’m ponitificating again.
With Lightroom there is a huge frustration issue you will need to just accept up front and dedicate yourself to tackling. Figure out the organization of your files and be consistent. Once that is done you can google almost any other issue you have and get a solution easy. I still do it when I get stuck.
I don’t recommend shooting raw plus jpg. If you can give me a valid reason you need to have both I would be curious to hear your logic. My experience is that it is twice the files to manage and delete. The only case where I think it could be necesary is a pro photographer recording to a separate card as backup.
So sounds like Gord, LOL.
