Our new little boy is home! His name is Django. He was an angel on the trip home, slept in my lap the whole way. He is the largest of the litter, don't know what he weighs yet, but he's a big boy. Shelly said he was one of the mellowest which is what we wanted. He spent the night in his crate without any complaining. I woke him up twice in the night to go outside and potty, which he did once. He was sound asleep both times and I think he could have slept from 10 - 6 this morning if I had left him alone. We've been taking him out quite often, and no accidents in the house, so far. Our 13 year old Golden has been a little grumpy with him a couple times and I'm keeping close watch on that and giving her lots of extra attention.
As many of you said, he did the choosing. The pups were in the garage because of the rain, and I just sat down on the floor to watch them. He immediately came over to me and laid down and put his head on my leg. I patted him and he rolled over for a belly rub. Then he crawled inside my coat. There were four puppies to choose from, 3 boys and a girl, but he was the one from the first minute. The others were adorable, but he was Django! I'm posting some photos, we don't have our puppy photography down yet, but you can get the idea. Of the pups we saw, he was the darkest one in color. He has a light spot on the top of his head and on two of his feet. We are crazy about him!
Karin, don't let them feed your puppy before taking it home. Oy! Whatta mess!
Good luck!
