I totally understand. I felt the same way. We were originally supposed to be number 6 out of 7 but a few dropped out and we were number 5. However, my husband wanted a male and there was only 1 male left. I have to say they pretty much all looked the same when I got there so I picked up the only male and made my decision in 5 minutes! Don't let my other dog know--but so far he's been the best dog we've ever had. LOL
I think maybe we're more experienced parents but he has had such a mellow temperment and so quick to learn that training has been much easier this time.
Welcome Karin,
No two puppies are identical and our memories fade about the "naughty factor" of our grown dogs. Enjoy your little one with the understanding that even if he does not live up to your memories of your Golden puppy, he will be a wonderful dog. At four months our puppy has now developed a desire to please now that he has had all of his shots and can be exercised out of the yard. We can only remember our 3 year old doodle as eager to please and remarkably obedient.
