Carol, This little project is great and perfect timing for me since I am going to be helping with a baby shower. Thanks!
Carol - I LOVE those!!!! They're ADORABLE!!! I have found SO MANY projects on Pinterest that I'm anxious to try. Please start a thread called "Pinterest" so we can post a link to our pages AND share the cool things that we find/make!
Thanks Linda -- will do. Want to make sure our Rattlesnakes are always well fed!! . . . sigh . . . Life does have interesting trade-offs! There's even a cooler engraving tool that I see at Sportsman's shows--you can get extreme detail but it's pretty expensive. I'll post the info on it when I run into it again . . .
Hi Diane - I found this tutorial on Pinterest. http://i44.tinypic.com/ru8xs6.jpg It should work. :) After you transfer the image to the wood you should be able to dremmel it out. It's funny that you would mention a dremmel. I was thinking about asking my dad if he would let me borrow his to experiment with. I can hardly wait to see how your project turns out. Please post a photo of it when it's done!
Any tips of transferring a sketch to wood for "dremmel etching"? I have a chuck of a log that will be a perfect den for chipmonks but it needs a top cap. While we're cutting out a top cap, I thought it would be cute to engrave a little chipmonk art on it. My husband has a dremmel and is willing to try but I need to figure out how to get the sletch onto the wood. Yes . . . I could free-hand it, but I guarantee that's NOT the best idea . . .
That looks like fun. Pretty soon we can look forward to her posting on the Art Cafe since she likely inherited grandma's talent : )
What a wonderful and creative activity. You are such a great mom, Adina!
