Hi my friends,  well my daughter informed us last night, that her and her BF might be renting a house, in Haugen WI  It is near Rice Lake, and my DH asked her if she met his mom yet she said NO<  U know she just does not sound like herself at all.   She said she had a headache  and I am sure she did, I believe she feels she is not doing the Right thing.  Karen will no on Friday if they are able to rent this house at least.   I am so tempted to ask her today Why she feels the need to have to live with someone, and not live by herself, my stomach is in knots.  Especially last night when my DH and I were talking and he said that he was a little upset with because she is not showing the Fortitude (sp) in telling her BF that she would like to live by her self for awhile.

Sue,

Why is it that those darn kids just don't listen to all of our wonderful, perfect advice??? LOL  Perhaps it is because they have to make their own mistakes?  I just hate, hate that I can predict some pitfalls that I would love to save them from, but they would prefer to fall right into the pit!  :-}  Vent all you want - we all understand here.

Thank you for letting me vent it has helped, and the hugs from Wilson Too !!!
Well, I was talking to my middle son who just happens to live with his gf but that was after two years and they have a committment.   My son told his sister that moving in with someone and dating them at the same time, is very very hard on the relationship.   He does know this because he and his girlfriend have broken up once, they r back together with a different prospective on life.  My DD did get the job she found out last night  we are very proud of her !! !  Now for for getting a budget going and finding a place, she told me this morning she had a hard time sleeping.

And I thought all my worries were over once them moved out !!! LOL  But you are so right they have to make mistakes and no that we as parents are here when those mistakes happen and be here .

I will keep you posted.     Thanks again !   Sue

We raise our children to be independent and to think for themselves.  We have their formative years to cherish and guide them.  Your DD needs to test her skills and you need to trust that she will make the right decision.

Telling her what she can and cannot do will just alienate her from you.  I've found that the more I object to one of my DK's choices, the more they dig in their heels and rebel.

Tell her that you love her and will emotionally support any decision that she makes.  Part of growing up is making mistakes and learning from them.

Good luck and we are always here to listen.

Hi Sue...

I'm so glad your daughter is still talking with you...

Family is so very important...and I can tell that you love your DD very much!

I'm sure she knows that too!

This will be a great time for you to get to know her boyfriend...and to show both of them love and kindness.

She knows that you don't approve of what she's doing...but...she will also know that you will love and support her...and be there for her...even if her choices aren't your choices.

You sound like a great Mom!

Venting is just fine...and we're here to support you...

Hugs...

Sue, This is a good place to vent.  Just let it all out.
Comment by Sue & Willy Babe on August 11, 2011 at 2:18pm

Hi all,  I just need to vent a little my daughter who just graduated from College and just well hopefully has a job (will find out on Monday) might move in with her boyfriend !!  I am not happy I know a lot of kids do that now, but that is not how I raised her, I let her know!  And believe it or not she is still talking to me!

Her BF lives at home and wants to move out they would get a 2 bedroom and all,but after going out for now almost 10 months she still has not met his parents ! Does not get along with his mom just met his biological Dad , he is nice we met him on her Graduation Day,  I told her I just don't want her hurt. My DH and I really haven't had time to talk about this , my daughter sprung this on me this morning !! Thank goodness tonight is Zumba night!!!  She is as good kid, and all 22 and I told her I can't stop her.  Maybe I just not ready too loose my daughter to this guy.   And I think I need to get to know him better too!!  I hope this doesn't sound too awful !  Thanks for letting me vent !

Hi All, sorry I haven't checked in awhile. Been so busy with work work and Doodle Rescue. Have had fosters in and out - which is a blast - and trying to find homes both adoptive and foster homes for many, many more.

My girls are great! Have been taking them to dog beach and to visit our doodle friends. The girls just love the beach. Sometimes the 3 of us just go even if we aren't meeting any doodle friends.

I hope everyone is having a fantastic summer!!
