Were so excited! We are a military family that just got orders to move to FLORIDA! We are sitting here looking at snow in Missouri so we are very excited! We'll be heading to the Ft Walton Beach area.

Canine Splash this weekend!
The dog days of summer may be long gone, but you can still pamper your pooches during the lingering heat of a South Florida fall by letting them frolic at two water parks on dogs-only days. One of Broward County Parks and Recreation’s most popular programs for the past dozen years, the K9 Water Festivals, returns this year with three weekend events in October and another in November.

The series kicks off on October 5 and 6 at Castaway Island at T.Y. Park in Hollywood. Splash Adventure at Quiet Waters Park in Deerfield Beach follows and at CB Smith.

Admission is $5 per dog per 50-minute session, with sessions beginning on the hour from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Only dogs weighing 25 pounds or less will be permitted for the final session of each day. Donations of dog and cat food, treats, blankets, and toys will be accepted on behalf of the homeless animals at Broward County shelters.

Broward County Animal Care and Adoption will also be on site with dogs available for adoption.

A few rules apply: All dogs must be off leash when inside the facility and must be sociable and well behaved. Proof of current rabies vaccination and county license tag are required. Other than lifeguards, no humans will be allowed inside the water playgrounds. Finally, dogs are limited to no more than two sessions per day, and dogs must be at least 4 months of age to participate.

Just thought I'd mention we are almost ready to make the migration back to Paradise! This Sunday!! YAY! Anxious to see if there will be any recognition factor for DerbyDoodle. She left in late May @5 mo she will be returning @9moso much progress has been made by her...I doubt she will remember, but I know she would not do well in the snow in Chicago...she is not thrilled with the leaves that are all over the ground!!

@Elizabeth and Gail - My store is Wall Beds Plus on 466 in the Southern Trace Plaza in The Villages. Stop by when you can, I would love to meet you and have you meet Bentley our Labradoodle.

@ Gail, I live in Ocala but have a store in The Villages in Lady Lake. Let me know when you will be in town visiting. We bring our Labradoodle Bentley to our store with us everyday.
