What is the meaning and origin of your Doodle's name? Darwin is Old English in origin, and it means "a dear friend." Loved that!

I named our Golden Doodle Amante. In Italian it means my secret, devoted, extra marital Lover. My husband agreed with this choice since he knew that I love the dog more then him!! :-)

Well, we decided on a name....Bruin. DH is hockey player/fan from Boston. It was a toss up between Bobby Orr, Bruin, or Fenway. I personally love Fenway the most, but I see a few doodle pups with that name already, so it's Bruin. I am hoping for a black or brown goldendoodle "bear".

We're expecting to pick up our Australian Labradoodle pup on July 9th and have also waited a long year to do so. We laid to rest our dear West Highland Terrier last summer at the age of 17. I did all the research and readng and fell in love with this breed. Always knew if we had a boy, his name would be Jackson. Actually, it was the name of my husband's cocker back in the 80's and I always loved the name. Also, we have a place in Cape May, NJ and one of my favorite streets is Jackson street...so Jackson it is!

Our new baby will be Miss Lilly Mae. We have always named our furbabies people names. Except the one that we got from the shelter at age 7..Mocha..Here are our dog names through the years..may they rest in peace and chase rabbits in doggy heaven: Tina, Sara, Maggie, Annie, Molly, Jake, Roxanne. My daughter is carrying on the tradition with Leo and Sally. When I told her that we were gong to name our puppy Lilly she replied..well guess I can cross that off the girl names if we ever have a baby girl. (she has two boys and would so love a little girl..)
