Hi all!! A "doodle mom" friend and I have two very active boys that love tennis balls and water. We were curious about what other local doodle owners would think about starting a doodle flyball and/or Splash/Dock Dog team. We live in Sacramento but would be willing to do something reasonably regional such as rotating practice locations. Any interest out there? If so, we can kick it around for the winter months and get serious early next spring . . .

Hey, I guess I AM a member here...you'd think I should be since Amber started the group and Swany is related! And Diane and Dakota are adopted family too...
I was at the Davis Doodle Romp too...it was a good crowd. I get so danged busy that I have a hard time talking to everyone that I want to...sorry that I missed Wendy. :o(

I hope that this doesn't post twice! Not sure whether it was sent by email. OK, everybody...we need help. Our annual IDOG romp will be in April of 2009 and we don't have a venue. We have outgrown the San Mateo County dog park and the rangers need for us to relocate to the "Big Dog" section. This is a problem since many of the doodles that romp aren't big dogs and might be somebody's lunch! How about some ideas as to where we can romp? Last year there were over 50 doodles that came. We would like to have a raffle for IDOG as well, so it would be nice to have a central gathering spot. Anywhere from San Jose to San Francisco would work...as long as there is plenty of safe room for doodles to romp. Anybody got a rich uncle with 40 acres of grassland available for a few hours one weekend in April???? Put on your thinking caps!!! Let's do it for IDOG!

Super! Glad the doodle romp at Davis was fun for everyone. We are thinking about a doodle romp down at Carmel Beach, but October is almost over. We might get one in before the rains start in November. Any interest?

We went to the Davis doodle romp - had a great time. I always enjoy seeing the different sizes, coats and colors of doodles. Our doodle puppy Chloe had lots of fun too!

We didn't go to the romp. Dakota had his own romp at his Eagle Lake house! I'll post pics in a day or two . . .

How was the Davis Doodle Romp?

In case anyone is interested, there is a new group of doodles at the Big Dog Rescue. They are pretty young but who knows about the history. The Big Dog Rescue in Penngrove (near Petaluma) is such a wonderful facility, you feel guilty taking a dog away from there.

Hi, I'm Diane and my Labradoodle's name is Dakota. He's a cream-apricot boy that will turn 3 on Nov 6. Time goes by much too fast! We always try to make the Davis romps. We missed the last one because Dakota had a very bad muscle pull--at least that's what we think it was; his vet was inconclusive. He seems to finally be feeling back to himself. Not yet sure about the Oct 18th romp--we are choosing to error on the side of "full and complete" recovery for him . . .
