What do you guys do with your pups when (if) you work 12 hours? I'm currently on day shift and I'm not 100% sure what I'll be doing with my g-dood pup when he comes home, I looked into doggie day…Continue

I have my very first nursing interview on Monday! Two actually- you know what they say- when it rains, it pours! After a few months off and a couple more of searching, I feel like I am finally on a good path! Good thoughts, prayers, and advice appreciated!
Congratulations Stephanie! Nursing has been a great career for me. 32 years as an RN, 26 as an PNP. Got my MBA 10 years ago. Lots of different paths that you can take. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have!
I am willing to bet that I am the freshest nurse in the group as I just passed my NCLEX two days ago! I've been enjoying having a little bit of free time to romp and roam with my little muppet, but I am excited to start working somewhere (hopefully soon)! It will be interesting to see how Ragley and I can transition to me working 12 hr shifts, though
I have been an RN for almost 38 years. Mostly ICU and now as a case manager. So at least it is 8 hours a day. Hoping for retirement when I hit 65. But depending how much I spend on my pup that is coming in April-maybe never!.Trying to look early for a day care. Any nurses from Michigan out there?
Hi All Nurses and soon to be and past nurses.
I am an RN worked 30 years. Med surge for 3 years then ICU for 20 (only the near insane can do that) and my last years as a nurse case manager for hospice when I moved to California. Loved Hospice and my patients, but as I became older the stress and work involved was not the patients or their families , it was the mounds of useless repetitious paperwork. In the middle of writing nursing care plans, I said this is the time to retire, so the decision was made on Tuesday, that Saturday my Poodle passed away unexpectedly. Two weeks later I retired and the next day Breezy arrived via air and it has been wonderful. The plan is to do therapy work with her as soon as she calms down a bit (she is 14 mos) I am busy do not know how there was time to work. I worked well past the normal age. Hope this may help you who may be thinking of it. I loved just about every minute of my nursing career and still have my license.
Thank you for this group, and Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all.
Nice to see that there are so many nurses on DK. I practiced for about 15 years, then went to law school. But you know the saying: Once a Nurse, always a Nurse". And on DK, I learned about puppies!
Hello Maggie and welcome! I imagine you are getting excited about your new puppy.... I am thrilled for you!
Welcome Maggie!
Congrats on your new arrival! You will have a blast with him/her.
