Nancy....How old is Clancy now?

Update: Clancy sheds - lots!!!! Interestingly only part of him sheds but it sheds enough for an entire dog. My groomer still says that he is going thru the second golden doodle coat change and that he might not shed when he is done. I will not bet any money on this, but I can dream!

I have an mini F1b Labradoodle that does not shed and a F1 Goldendoodle that I think will be a shedder, not a big deal we have tile and laminate on the ground floor of the house.

@karen, I do the same thing! I have to put a sheet over the bed so I can fold laundry without dog hair!

Thanks to Jackdoodle, I finally have a use for the tablecloth my mother gave me when I got married. I spread it over my bed so I can fold laundry there without the dog hair getting all over the clean laundry.

Well, I'm not sure if Gus and Molly are considered real shedders, because I find very few hairballs in the house, but when I comb them, usually every other day, the hair comes out in huge gobs, plus they do get mats. Compared to my former dogs, including a lab and a golden retriever, it's a piece of cake. They do require a lot more combing/brushing though; thankfully they both enjoy it and so do I!

Well, as I said in another group. Buddy sheds like NO TOMORROW. He sheds buckets and buckets of floating hairballs all over. They hide under the furniture and blow around like mad bunnies. He did not shed a single hair as a puppy. He does not mat, loves to be groomed, and his lovely personality makes up for it all. If I still live in this house next time I get a doodle, it'll be a white one so the hair balls (if there are any) don't stand out so much

Well, I have one non-shedder, matter AND two shedders (guess how we know one of them is a lab mix!!) and one still-in-question ( groomer says no, Beverley Manners says yes) so...... I guess I belong here. Luckily, they don't mind going to the groomer.
Since Starlit is a puppy, there is hope that she will develop that perfect coat of non-shedding, non-matting.

Until a doodle is at least a year old, you won't really know if he's a shedder or not. Their coats change drastically between puppyhood and adulthood. Another reason a puppy is not a good choice for someone who wants a non-shedding dog.
Purebred poodles, Wheaten terriers, Portuguese Water Dogs, Havanese, and many other breeds do not shed ever, as puppies or adults. There is no "uinknown" factor in their coats. They do change from baby soft to coarser as the get older, just like humans hair changes from babyhood to adulthood, but it never starts shedding.

Banjo is 4 months old today! I'm not sure I can call him a "shedder" or if he is just transitioning from his "baby" coat. I brush him a few times a week and come up with gobs and gobs of fur. That sweet soft downy stuff. I don't find fur in his crate, there are no dust bunnies on the floor but when I am wearing darker colors and have been holding him the evidence is all over. Maybe it's too soon to tell. We sure did want a non shedder....but just love him so much at this point it doesn't matter!!!!
