I have a couple of suggestions to beat the heat and still have a romp:
1. please all start joining us at the Epicure Doggie Brunches.....really fun and DELICIOUS! and you don't have to eat the full brunch ($12.50) if you don't want to, (but it is yummy). They have shaded places for us, and then afterward, you can all bring your doodles to the dogpark at my building.....right down the street from Epicure. By that time, the park will be shaded too, and I have a wading pool I can provide. Epicure has their brunch every Sunday, but the first Sunday of every month, it is half price if you bring your dog.
2. Just plan the romps later in the day, so the sun is not too strong. Our dogpark is totally shaded at about 4 PM.

With this heat we should maybe consider taking a break until the fall. Dexter does not torerate heat well at all except around water. Snyder Park used to be great, now it's filthy. It was on the news today not to keep your pets outside for any length of time. Dexter loves swimming and has been spending lots of time in the pool. Frank is not big on swimming so he hangs inside by the sliding door watching. When he wants to come out we bring him out. I have a lanai so lots of times he hangs out in the lanai with the fans on.

The Epicure Doggie Brunch was AWESOME yesterday! And if you don;t believe ME, just check out page B3 of today's Miami Herald! (I think it's on the online version too). It is held the first Sunday of every month. That is Beau's behind on the lower right hand side of the third photo! My Indian friend is holding his blue retractable leash. Hope you will all join us for the brunch in August. I got Beau a swim vest, so I am willing to try Bark Park again, if the rest of you are, as smelly and dirty as it is, and as much as Beau has demonstrated his dislike of swimming. Mark Spitz he is not. Epicure does have indoor seating, but we have to sit outdoors with the dogs.....they do have an overhanging roof, so there is shade, and there are also umbrellaed tables.....but it was quite warm yesterday.....but so much fun, we just chewed ice cubes and had a blast.

I agree about Snyder Park. Is Epicure indoors?

A couple of weeks notice is always great. However, Snyder Park is just too smelly and dirty for us. Any other ideas?

WAY TOOO HOT FOR HAPPY TAILS - WE WOULD DO EITHER SNYDER PARK OR EPICURE FOR BRUNCH BUT LETS GIVE EVERYONE ELSE A COUPLE OF WEEKS NOTICE....

seems to be a good meeting place.

We would have loved to, and we are having guests and can't make it. Dudley would have found it a new experience (I have no idea how he would behave). We'd love to another time. Dudley had such a nice time with Beau. We hope you all enjoy the 4th!

shoot, I wish we could come tomorrow, but we can make it to the buffet in Aug. if u give us the date and time. We would love to come...I have company coming tomorrow, so we can't make it down there...

we can all get together at the Epicure Doggie Brunch tomorrow at 11 AM (yes they are having it even tho it's July 4th)! Then, for those that are so inclined, Beau's personal dogpark is just down the street. Hope to see you tomorrow!!
