QUESTIONS REGARDING PUPPY BEHAVIORAL CONCERNS (less than 4 mos of age) are better placed in the Main Forum or the Puppy Madness Groups. Once our Doodles reach the age of four to five months, they are ready to begin their obedience training, and this is the place to share experiences.
I STARTED A NEW CGC COLLAGE, BECAUSE WHEN I ADDED JACK DOODLE AND JAKE THE PICTURES BECAME TOO SMALL TO REALLY SEE....SO NOW WE HAVE PLENTY OF ROOM FOR MORE CGC GRADS!!!!!
Congratulations HATTIE!!!!!

So, the Rally people suggested to me that I should enter Maggie in the show that's coming up at the end of August. They have Rally on Friday, so we could actually do that one day. But I'm looking at…Continue

This week Willow has decided that sitting for exam is terrifying. We've practiced. She will sit and let me go over her like a champ. Feet, ears, tail, teeth. No problem. But when the instructor bent…Continue

Congrats, Anabelle! I'm sure you worked very hard and deserve a nap and maybe some cookies. :)
Congrats, Sheri and Annabelle!! A nice nap is in order!
Congrats, Annabelle!
Congratulations, Sheri & Annabelle! Great job!
Thanks for the advice :) Upping the meals seems to be helping.. although he was munching on a pebble yesterday. Oy. We've take kibble outside with him as well so when he starts to chew bad things it's back over to the bowl. I can't wait for the hoover days to be gone!
Miss AnnaBelle completed her Advanced Family Pet Manners Class today and we celebrated by taking the CGC. It was really sort of funny because she was in a class with a lot of huge dogs. A mastiff, another one about that size with the coloring of a GSD, a Old English and a five month old Newfie! These big ole dogs were so laid back they would just stroll where ever they went. AnnaBelle shared her Doodle Puppy enthusiasm in order to entertain everyone, but she passed with flying colors. Now lots of socialization practice so we can try and get her ready for her therapy test.
Apparently it was exhausting!
Tracy my Guinness went through a very bad phase with IBS. When he was having a "flare" anything other than his food would cause him to get very sick...a piece of a "stuffie", a little twig, grass...literally anything. That's when we got very serious about teaching him "heel". When he was in a heel his head was never down where he could even sniff the ground. He could only go out on a leash when things were at their worst. It was difficult, but it did work. The thing is you must be consistent...you must teach them that in a heel they are not even allowed to sniff the ground. When you know you're in "safe territory" you would give a "free" and then he could be allowed to explore.
