Loving Baker
Sadly, we lost Baker last week from lymphoma. The story is somewhat different, I think, and I wanted to share some of our experience in the event another DK dog is affected the same way.He had been acting a bit 'off' (not wanting to climb stairs, little things like that) & it's easy to pass that off as sore hips, because he was 10 years old. - My husband & I are both retired & enjoying it. We spend lots of time with our two children & their families. We love our 7 grandchildren & being part of their lives. Baker & Oskar love being part of the family.
- What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
- Baker is an F1 cream goldendoodle, born 1-09, 99#, sweet as can be. Mom is a small Golden Retriever, Dad a black standard poodle.
Oskar is a mini/medium double-doodle, born 7-12, who came from Idaho to be Baker's BFF. Mom is an F1 Goldendoodle, Dad is an Australian Labradoodle.
- Where did you get your doodle(s)?

- Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
- We originally were going to get a labradoodle...since we loved the personalities of labs & standard poodles. When the female had a false pregnancy, we switched to a goldendoodle puppy, thinking we would have a medium sized, cute, shaggy dog with a great temperament. We have the cute, shaggy dog with a great temperament, & he grew to 99#...Oskar is a mini/medium & seems to be in the 35# range.
- What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
- We take the dogs everywhere with us...they love riding in the car, playing with our grandchildren. Love to watch them play, we're always laughing at them :)

Our new puppy arrives next Saturday. We are very excited & I wanted to share this picture of the litter since the beautiful mom is the picture of patience :) We've named him Oskar & he is a mini/medium double-doodle. - yeah she does smile especially when we are running around. or maybe she's just panting. she follows me whereever ago. she does not like it when it isjust me and her tho ...when everyone else is in the other room.she starts barking when she hears music and people talking. when she's with everyone else..she just lies down and nap. 15 weeks today. she was 22lbs last week. i havent weighed her yet for this week.
she is supposed to be a standard as well. but my breeder said she is a lightweight..so probably 50-60lb. so we'll see what happens then :)
