- About Me:
- I am a nurse living in Oklahoma but I've lived everywhere from Florida to Alaska. Lucy and I love to camp, take bike rides (Lucy has her own carrier I pull behind me) and go geocaching!
- What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
- Lucy is a golden doodle who is black and she turned four on Christmas (11)! In the sun she has beautiful chocolate brown highlights... I lost my 11 year old german shepherd (Jag) in November,2008. Lucy and I both miss him so much. Lucy is having a hard time adjusting to being alone in the yard while I'm at work... We're looking at getting a 2nd doodle... but it's a hard decision! 12/26/08 Lucy has a brother!! His name is Rusty and he was named by Grandpa (my dad).
Update 2012 Both Lucy and Rusty have received their Canine Good Citizen certification... Lucy is also a Certified Therapy Dog ...but the two could not be more different... both smart and loving.. but Lucy is an adventurer and Rusty likes the tried and true. Lucy loves people and dogs; Rusty thinks he's human and given a choice his favorite place is on a human's lap (did I mention he's 80lbs?)... They are such a funny pair and keep me entertained... I couldn't ask for two better dogs!
In April, 2012, I became a puppy raiser for New Leash on Life - who is a non-profit organization who provides assistance dogs to the disabled for free. I am raising a labradoodle named Duffy (who looks like a Lucy "mini-me").. I'll have to give him up when he is 14 months old so that he can go to his "real" trainer. My job is to get him potty trained, basic obedience and socialization. I tell him (and myself) everyday that he has a higher calling and will someday make someone's life easier... but letting him go will be hard.

- Breeder
- Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
- I wanted a golden retriever because they are so loving and they're active but also laid back. Unfortunately, their hair is unbelievable... so I heard about doodles and my very first dog ever was a poodle and he was so incredibly smart! So, I thought it was a great mix - the loving personality of the golden and the smartness/loyalty of the poodle!
- What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
- We love agility training. Lucy is FAST and loves the tunnels!! We also love going to the dog park and playing in water. I don't know what Rusty is going to love to do... right now he likes using his very sharp puppy teeth to chew on my hands!!
- Does your doodle(s) shed?
- Yes!
- Who grooms your doodle(s)?
- Groomer... Lucy does not shed at all but Rusty sheds just like a golden.
- Favorite Doodle Products?
- Orange balls, fleece pull toys, PIGS EARS, rope pull toys... and anything found on the kitchen counter! ugh

Of course, I will share my breeder with you. Sharon is her name and Designer Doodles is the name of her farm. She does mostly goldendoodles, but also breeds some others. Groucho Too is the son of Groucho, her phantom poodle that she is still breeding. His offspring are gorgeous, just like him. You should be able to reach her through designerdoodles.com
