Profile Information

About Me:
I like my privacy, hence the fake location. Coming up on One Year! Love her more than anything. Puppy months were Easy. She is one good pup! How did I get so fortunate? I think it had to do with the breeder saying the mother was serene and joyful. This one is not quite serene...plays like a tiger.
What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
My doodle is an apricot parti..a little white on the paws, a bit on her muzzle, and a lovely white chest. She's an Australian LD named Dinah. At 11 months she is 15 pounds and very long body (22") and tall. I was not expecting this. I've learned that the mini poodles are athletic...and she got the genes! We play frisbee and she likes to add twists and turns. I saw a full revolution the other day. I feel bad that I have to wear her out with frisbees...but she doesn't take walks...only rarely. She is high energy.
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Breeder
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
Health. Temperament. Affection. Appearance.
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
We will be participating in doggy sports, and human water activities, especially fishing, and maybe kayaking. At almost a year, we are still in progress. I'm not good enough in the kayak to risk making her go and becoming afraid because of my skill level. The next question is about shedding. I'm still waiting. There were some mats around her collar and at the ends of the ear leather that were removed (shaved). But I'm not really seeing shedding yet.
Does your doodle(s) shed?
Nope!
Who grooms your doodle(s)?
I will==HA! Lemme say that she resented me for doing it, so I caved.
Favorite Doodle Products?
I really appreciate the various frisbee products. She likes the soft bite with the small dog on the fabric because it is the most soft...even though the other IS soft also. The large "flying squirrel" hangs in the air longer and gives her time to catch it. But they were hard to run with when she was small. Also they have hard bits that can give a whack, but now she doesn't mind at ALL.
Relationship Status:
Single
Would you be willing to Dog Sit on occasion for other DoodleKisses members? (You are NOT committing to anything by saying yes - you are just saying you might be willing to do this if you were acquainted with the other member and the circumstances were right.)

Trolling for new members for Northern Va. Doodles.

Posted on May 30, 2018 at 5:41pm 0 Comments

The Northern Virginia doodle group was formed some time ago, and many of the dogs are now 14-15 years old.  Some may have gone to Rainbow Bridge.  There has been no activity in the group so I am reaching out to our newer members in case they are from Northwen Virginia area and asking them to please join the group so we can the  use it to stay in touch and not interrupt the whole Doodlekisses.

I am hoping to find some support from another doodle owner to ease me into grooming…

Colleen,

It's good to hear from you. Mayzee is doing well and is now just over 22lbs at about 18 months old. I'm not sure of her height since we've never measured her. She is taller and longer legged than our past dogs (Tibetan Terriers) but seems well proportioned. She's filled out nicely after being a bit on the thin side. She's a great eater of her grain-free diet from Orijen and looks forward to every meal. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Take care,

Paul

c, you do whatever you think is the best thing to do regarding housebreaking.  I live in southern California also and don't think it ever gets so cold that we can't take our guys out. Imagine the people in Chicago, New York, Michigan.   Please join our Southern California group and come to the romps once your pup has all shots.

PS sending a group message doesn't work because people can't respond.  What would be a better choice is to join the Puppy Madness group and post your question in a discussion there.

Hi, you need to post your questions about your puppy and potty pads as a comment or discussion in the Australian Labradoodle Group itself, instead of sending a message to the group. Nobody can respond to the message you sent to all members; that feature is only intended to be used for making announcements to the group, there is no way to reply back.

Yes! I haven't updated this page since our search started a long time ago. Mayzee is an amazing puppy that just turned 8 months old yesterday. She's from Maple Woods Labradoodles in Valparaiso, IN.
