The pups spent their first night in the pen last night and did just fine--all was well this morning. They are now walking around and playing whenever they aren't conked out. When I stand in the pen, they paw at my pants, bite my hem and sometimes fall asleep on my slippers. I got a few great new pictures today and wanted to share them with all of the puppies' fans. Some of the biggest fans will be here on Sunday when "Sugar donut" meets his new family--pictures to follow! …

That last video I linked to was not so great--but still fun to watch--this one has better lighting and everyone, even porkchop (now Rafi) moves around!
The puppies still sleep a lot but are starting to play a bit when they are awake--just a bit of wrestling and tumbling, but it is the start of something that will be so cute I will have a hard time leaving the room soon!

I videotaped the puppies last night as they were trying to walk across the box to mom--sooo funny to see them wandering around, falling down, etc. Their eyes are just starting to open, so they are getting a bit better at navigating. Porkchop does something very unexpected and out of character in this video--I am sure you will see what i mean!
This is a four minute video--sorry the sheet looks so disgusting--I had just washed it, but puppies are really messy! I am doing laundry…

I thought you might enjoy checking out these fat little dudes! I have to lock Lyric out of the room for 2-3 hours so they don't eat themselves to death! It's a feeding frenzy when she goes back in there. The apricot pup loves to sleep on his back and it is so funny to see him with such a full belly. The others are also in a stupor and need to sleep it off! I can't wait until the eyes open--should be tomorrow or Saturday. They are very good at following their noses though, especially if momma…

I had fun setting up a "photo studio" under a skylight and snapping away today--i got some wonderful pictures and thought I would share them with all of the readers out there! Hope you enjoy them!
Let's start with the small black male--he is a quiet pup, but always gets a full belly by pushing underneath all the fatties. He is so cute! I call him "twinkletoes" because of…

Well, unfortunately, it is not good news. I brought my little "squirt" to my vet today and we found a sizeable cleft palate. But she is still very active and healthy-looking despite a lack of weight gain, so we decided to look into some solutions rather than just euthanizing her. One of the vet techs there raises kittens and has saved several squirrels using tube feeding and was very anxious to take "Squirt" on for a few days to see if she could get her weight up. (For free! I have such nice…

Sorry to keep you all in suspense but I have had no time to write! Lyric went through a long night of pacing and panting, but at 4:30 am, things got more serious. By 6:15, she was ready to give birth and hoped right into the whelping box--she made two grunts and out popped puppy #1 --a gorgeous all black male. 15 minutes later, we had a beautiful FAT apricot female followed by…
