The recipe for a tired doodle!

Nearly a year later, I found the magic recipe for completely wearing Callie out!

6 hour trial day at a new doggie day care

4 mile walk (with lots of new dogs to meet and grass to sniff)

30 minutes of throwing the tennis ball down the stairs (sorry neighbors!)

Do the steps above in rapid succession. Let doodle get a good night's sleep. Follow up with a 30 minute morning walk and a 2 hour trip to the dog park. You should end up with a well-done dood…

A reminder that she's an animal...

Yesterday, our guest dog Scout had a series of accidents, of both the pee and poop variety (she went to the vet this morning - she has a UTI, got some antibiotics, and she will be fine...poor little girl!). I evidently missed an area in the guest room where Scout had diarrhea, and only discovered it because Callie jumped in my lap and started lavishing my face with poop-scented kisses. I just didn't know what to do first...scrub my face or wash Callie's mouth (she's given to wandering around…

I'm spoiled by Callie's cuteness!

I have gotten so accustomed to people admiring Callie when we're out and about that I've found that I'm mildly offended when people don't comment upon her adorableness. Does anyone else feel that way?

Clueless Callie

It is completely foreign to my sweet little Callie that another dog might NOT want to play with her! At my sister's last weekend, she kept trying to play with their 14 year old lhasa/shi-tzu mix, Scoobie. Scoobie has been a cranky curmudgeon since she was a puppy, and this has not improved with age. Callie would run up to Scoobs, bump her with her nose, and then jump back. Scoobie's invariable response was to turn around barking, growling, and snapping. Since Scoobie doesn't have two teeth…
