I took Shelby in for her first groom yesterday.... just a puppy groom.... bath, blow dry, razor trim around face and paws, sanitary, ear cleaning and nail trim/grind. I didn't know how she would do. Well, she got rave reviews from the grooming department! They said they would have never guessed that she hadn't been groomed before. Yes, the blow dryer freaked her out at first, but she was fine. Right now my Shelby is spending her first night in a boarding facility. I had an out of town wedding to attend today - and it was for a colleauge... so pretty much everyone who helps me with Shelby when I can't get home during lunch or need help with something was also at the wedding. I had to board her for the night... and I am just hoping she is having an easier time than I am. I have to admit I teared up as I left... and could hear her pawing on the glass as I walked away! It was a beautiful spring day in Texas yesterday.... right about 70 degrees... not to hot or cold... I was comfortable in capris and a t-shirt. I decided to take Shelby for a walk outside of our normal walking area (which I vary our path frequently). I packed up some water and a dish in my backpack since I didn't know if there would be doggie water fountains in the area we walked to (we have two in my subdivision park. Yes, it true... my little girl has hit a major milestone and that is the loss of a puppy tooth. I was a bit shocked when I found it just laying on her blanket - after she had been chewing on a rawhide! She didn't seem bothered at all.... which is good! I gave her an ice cube to try and stop the bleeding (minimal), and she went for it... both as a treat and a toy!
