Well we need patience in my house. We all including my other dog Ping miss having a second dog in the house. Our puppy is not even born yet. I know it gives us time to prepare but I am excited. We have been thinking of names and so far we are not agreed on any of them. I am sure when we meet this dog it will name itself. This is a picture of Ping the big brother to be. …

I realize my title is very alarming and you are all probably wondering if I live in Colorado or Washington, but before an intervention is staged, let me be clear, I am talking about large clay pots. I’ve got a serious problem and even though this is a dog website and this has nothing to do with dogs, I feel the need to share. We are…

So proud of my boy "Paz" who is called a "hero" in a media release describing his work as a Pet Partner therapy dog with children who have witnessed domestic violence.

Jeff and I just can't seem to get enough of painting this old house! When the weekend hit, what did we find ourselves doing? Painting, of course. This time it was outside instead of in. Basically, we have nothing left to paint for the interior. My husband got it into his head that our deck had to be stained, which it most surely did, especially if you recall the pics from Milton's birthday party. It was just a little old and worn out all over. Jeff actually…

With a great deal of emotion, I delivered Sweetie to her guardian home on Saturday--the new owners are lovely, have a great house and yard and lots of time and love for her, BUT it was still hard to say good bye to this very special girl. She just has a way of reading you and what you want that is remarkable--she will hopefully be a therapy dog someday because she would be awesome--hoping she has puppies here in a few years--
Here are some pics of the little pup taken at her…

Tonight as my daughter played with her partner in crime, Riley, she looked up at me so sweet as could be and said "Why is Riley's hair coming out?" So we sat down and talked about why Riley's hair was coming out. I explained that Riley was getting older and that is part of the reason why she doesn't always have the energy to play like she used to. So she says "well that's ok because she's just my Riley Girl and my best friend" and then she said to Riley "I will help you girl, we'll make…

Due to Harley’s emotional roller coaster last Thursday (when DH left in my car with his suitcases – read: HARLEY MADE ME CRY), DD (Doodle Daughter) felt Harley needed two sets of arms to cuddle him back to normal so she came over Friday evening for a “mother – daughter” pajama party……

When I was a kid, and I got to stay home from school because I was sick, it wasn't such a bad thing. My mom would dote on me all day long from my vantage point on the sofa plopped in front of the TV. If it was a Wednesday, my dad would be home too, so the house always had an energy about it.
Yesterday I stayed home sick from school, and it was quite the different experience. I felt like it was a big, inconvenient break…

Found this park tucked away behind the playground where my son used to play as a toddler (he's 25 now). Didn't even know it existed! It was a beautiful day to go exploring with the doodle and the DH! I couldn't get over what we found at the end...a beautiful bridge that lead to the Ortega River...
I love how green the ferns are right now...…

I was reading last night about some of the "holistic" vet medicine techniques that are beginning to become more prevalent, and I came upon a quote that I really love and thought I'd share. It's by Dr. Michael Fox....
"Much improvement is needed and will be achieved when certain bioethical principles that constitute the rights of all animals under our dominion become part of the heart and moral fabric of society. These principles are: right breeding (to avoid harmful…

...well, almost. You do need to start a story with a catch phrase, right?
Auggie is fortunate enough to be in touch with his real brother Jack. They went together to the same socialization class when they were just tiny-tiny skinny-butt puppies and they also met a few times for a local doodle romp.
And yes, they looked like twins. They only way to tell them apart…

We have had many posts here on DK about Seat Belt issues. I think I've finally found our answer to this very debated topic. Last week, a very long week, the last straw for me was when Spud’s seat belt broke as I used the brakes. The next moment, Spud was roaming about the van. How safe is…

Bodhi is a boy in a bubble!!! We had so many problems with him as a puppy when it came to finding the right food and the right shampoo to use! He its like he is intolerant to everything! He cant have chicken, beef, some fish, grains and has many issues with most synthetic scents. We spent so much time and money at the vet figuring out what was right for him and finally came to the conclusion that he can only have grain free venison! so we feed him california natural grain free venison! He…

If you pay close attention you will notice, our seasons give us “signs” they are changing. Even though March 20th marked this years “official” Spring Equinox date, many regions needed additional weeks for the temperatures to catch up.
It’s April now and we can finally see new growth. In our little neck of the woods, it’s time to cut the grass……

Gosh I have so many questions about goldendoodles and realize I have so much to learn. This is the first dog ever and so this is a really big deal for me! I have been reading up, reading up, and reading up more. I have bought a ton of puppy supplies to be ready for my baby when he arrives home. It's like Christmas here...lol…

A Wednesday post...? How peculiar. Yes, yesterday I missed my standard Tuesday posting because I had 95 research reports sitting on my chest. They were weighing on my shoulders, hanging over my head, and directly in front of my eyes. Am I now completely finished with grading those papers? No, you always have those few outliers - late papers, waiting to print, and carefully tucked away somewhere. Will I get them all read? Yes, of course, however, it is just…

Lately, I have been reading more and more about some amazing Doodles we have here on DoodleKisses and it has gotten me thinking about Fudge and Vern. I have been asking myself what special skills do my two dogs have and have we been working together as master and dog to the best of our abilities? Unfortunately, if I am honest, I would…
