Several years ago, we received a hammock for Christmas. It came with a stand (not the kind that ties to trees). I have an 8 month old doodle, Eli whom I adore. I also have two other dogs, an 11 1/2 year old Yorkshire terrier and a 8 year old Yorkiepoo who are also the loves of my life. Last night my 8 pound yorkiepoo choked on a treat and we almost lost him. Thank goodness for Google! We looked up how to perform the heimlich on dogs. After about 8-10 minutes we were able to dislodge the treat that he had bitten off more than he needed to and swallowed before chewing it up. It was a very traumatic… Continue

How did I do?! It was my first time grooming a dog! I actually love his hair like this! I used a 1/2 inch blade for his body and I trimmed his legs and his face and I kept a little scruff around his mouth (and I didn't touch his tail!)

Of course, as always, when Penny and her brother, Jeter, get together it's non-stop playing and play-fighting. Yesterday was no different. My friend and I watched our two "babies" play for a couple hours, despite it was a mere 46 degrees outside. We sat in the sun but to no avail; I mean, holy moly it was cold! First of all let me say I LOVE this website and all it's valuable information! I have had dogs all my married life (37 years) but this is my first doodle. Eli has been challenging to say the least. We love and adore him dearly. However, there are a few areas he wears on my last nerve. Eli is 7 1/2 months old and is still nippy when he wants my attention or suddenly decides to attack. I wrote a while ago about Belle (14.8 lbs) failing the admission evaluation at doggy day care because she didn't know how to behave with other, mostly bigger, dogs.  The owner of a small local day care on a farm agreed to work with Belle (whom she refers to fondly as her "wackadoodle"). Belle started playing under close supervision with a few calm, small dogs.
