IS IT TIME?

Two years ago, my ex-husband told me I should have my 14 year old GR, Boomer, put down, and as usual, he was wrong! ;-) Boomer has been suffering with arthritis for about 3-4 years. It is quite bad he is taking rimadyl 2x per day. He will only go outside to go potty when absolutely necessary. Sometimes he eats, sometimes he has to be coaxed. Goldendoodle Vacay

Atty update: 17.6 lbs and growing.

Well, call us crazy, but we're loading up our three month old GD Atticus on a trip to the Gulf Coast for ten or so days! We've packed up bags full of his food, treats, toys, his medical records/rabies cert. etc. We bought a travel crate at Target that just pops up like a tent. We've mapped out hotels with pet policies. We're taking his life jacket for beach and boat play. Ugh. We're pretty much potty trained and I hope we don't get set backs along… Continue

Class #2 of Intermediate Obedience.

No luck. Yep Fergie did do great but I didn't want her to. Today our big lesson was getting her to come to you when you're out of site. I personally think 8 wk old pups will do that most of the time. We did do a little bit of agility work (10 minutes) which she hadn't done and was somewhat fun but I can't follow through with that because she wouldn't be able to compete for quite a few years (She's a dood and not fixed) so I'm not interested in that either. Ali the Diva!

No more going stir crazy!

Ellie had her 3rd parvo shot today and the vet says she can go outside. YAY! Obviously no dog parks/pet stores, etc... but least we both won't get stir crazy anymore! Plus, NYC is full of outdoor dining so it'll be great to take Ellie out.

On the slightly bad note, Ellie had a minor ear infection. Vet said it was common among goldens and poodles with the mix heat and humidity here. (It's rained about 17 days here...) Oh well, no big deal apparently. Just a little medicine to get her… Continue

Sweet Gentle Cimmy

Rosco gets the summer cut I said I'd never do again...

Before we go on vacation, I felt compelled to get rid of Rosco's nasty, stinky, never-can-quite-get-clean beard. But in order to do that...well...I had to trim the rest of him equally short =)

What kind of doodle is this ???

My daughter in law sent me this picture. It is clearly a poodlle mix of some kind but I can't quite make out what kind.............
she's only about 17 months in this picture. It's hard to tell how big she will get.
There are some behavior issues---but nothing insurmountable.

Fireworks Safety

It is only June 27th and already a town nearby had a fireworks show. Samantha wasn't too concerned until the finale. The last big boomers made her nervous. For well being of your pups, make sure that during firework shows they have on their collars with IDs on.

I personally cannot tolerate the sound that tags make. I found 2 companies online whose products I like.

Found one of Harlow's baby teeth

We have one of those ball chaser cat toys (plastic ball inside a circular track) for our indoor cat, Cleo. Harlow plays with the toy more than Cleo. She will pounce on the ball and chase around the circular track forever. I swear if Harlow could figure out the scratching pad center, she would try to sharpen her claws! Ice cube treats

My 10 week old puppy likes to chew on rocks, not a good idea. We gave her an ice cube from our ice maker and she loves them. Must feel good on her little teething mouth. Keeps her busy for awhile and does not make a mess.
