Oliver's first bath!

Shake! Shake! Shake!

I keep telling my friends and family that Lucy is brilliant and it's me that's holding her back. They all smile warmly and say "uh huh". I decided to show my parents how smart Lucy is... so yesterday while I was at their house, I started teaching Lucy how to shake. We worked on it for about 15 minutes.. "shake" pick up her paw and hold it... then treat.. repeated about 15 times. My parent weren't all that impressed but by the last 4 "shakes" her paw was no longer "planted". Then about 2… Continue

9 weeks

Oliver is 9 weeks old today!

...and we just got back from his first puppy class! He was very well behaved and didn't potty all over the place like a lot of the older puppies did. I'm rather partial to him and so I'm a bit biased, so I was surprised when other puppy owners singled me out from all of the other puppy owners and told me how cute and well behaved he was. :) One lady told me he looks like that puppy from the Charmin toilet paper commercial, ha. Day 4 as a doodle owner...

Things are going well! Yesterday Oliver had a few accidents in the house while his dad was "watching" him while I went to the store. I put WATCHING in quotations for a reason...haha. Jonathan admits that he was doing several things at once, but I think he learned his lesson quickly as it was his first time he was alone with the puppy since we brought him home. ...Oh well, today is a new day!

Day 1 as a doodle owner...

We have many nicknames for the pup. So far we call him: Ollie, Ollie-Ollie-Oxen-Free, Oliver Twist, Mr. Twist, and Fetus face (because he has such a baby face in comparison with the rest of his body lol).

Yesterday (during the day), when he fell asleep while we were playing in the living room (being a puppy is HARD WORK!) we'd transfer him into Chloe's crate to see how he'd react. We're using Chloe's old crate at the moment since we wanted to wait to see how tall he would be, but… Continue

Halas is a Canine Good Citizen

We passed! The first time through, he did great at everything except sitting politely to be petted. He kept trying to jump, so the evaluator couldn't pass him on that, which means we failed. But we went through the rest of the test anyway, and did fine with the other tasks. They said we could just wait a little while and try again after the other dogs had their turns, so that's what we did. And the 2nd time, he sat very calmly and let the evaluator pet him. We received our calendars today

They are great! Holly thanks Adina for including her pictures. We purchased five calendars. Two for us and the other three for friends who are not lucky enough to have a doodle.

Willson met his brother

This is way to cool Well when we first got Willson we went to PetSmart to get a few items, we had Willson in are arms, and it just so happens that one of the customers and questioned us about the doodle breed so we gave as much information as we could and where we got Willson.

Neutering

Just wondering if anyone else had this problem after neutering their dog, Just got back from ER with Willson, seems that he has some blockage in his prepuce, we have to apply an antibacterial wash, so I am wondering if anyone else had to do this too

Halas' Big Weekend

Friday started out great with the notice that Halas is the cover boy and Mr. January in one of the DoodleKisses 2009 calendars! We soaked in all of the congratulatory feelings sent our way by all of our DK friends. We also told all of our non-DK friends and relatives about it. Everyone is very excited.
