My dog is a cat

My little Zoey looks like a dog and barks like a dog but has all the habits of a cat...she is nesting she will scratch and scratch and turn in circles until she gets comfortable. She can jump up on things like a cat too. Ok I know she is a dog but has anyone ever seen this nesting thing in a puppy???? I never have seen it before.

A Turn for the Better

I changed the bedding in her crate to a soft liner and last night she slept from 11pm-4am--YAY I also think the shot from the vet may have 'helped' that along as well but I was so excited. She also went right back to sleep after I walked her. I hope we turned a corner but she is such a good girl that I know if not right now, she will be sleeping through the night consistently very soon. Thanks to all of you who added your comments. Home with the Flu in the Company of Thing 1 & Thing 2

I have had the misfortune of getting the flu- even after taking a flu shot! So I have had an unexpected leave from work for the past three days!

During these past few days I have had a chance to observe the doods up close and personal in a way that I haven't before. You can observe a lot when you are too sick to get out of bed!

Problems with site

I am having problems with my page. Everytime I want to download pictures or do anything on the site I get knocked out of the site and I am told to sign in again. Am I doing something wrong? I haven't had this problem in the past. In the past once I signed in the first time, I was able to do anything I wanted. I wasn't able to post this blog until I signed in a second time.

Dew Claw

Ozzy has two dew claws that have to be removed next week...Why do dogs have them??? and why don't they get removed when they are born??? Did anyone else have this problem??? Ozzy's have turned upside down and are growing in a "C" shape back into his leg....Poor Ozzy is going to have is front legs shaved to have the dew claws removed and the back leg for the IV. I guess I will even it out and shave the 4th so now he will look like a poodle.

Fergie had quite the wild night

OK she's not so perfect. She just wouldn't sleep last night. I could hear her playing with her barking cow and every other noisy toy she has. I get up and WHAT?????

Doodle Daddy, Tuesday, March 03

Jess was taken off life support yesterday. His heart and lungs are working at a very low output, but working with assist of medication. He is watched closely from the fine medical team at Mayo. He has had some scares but each one has been managed. His chest had to be left open as the heart did not respond as well when they tried to close him -- he has a "skin" like Saran Wrap that is keeping him together.

"mini" Cooper is 1 today

No Sleep for Me!

Phoebe has decided to be a night owl--a barking, whining one, that is. Last night, she barked for an hour and forty-five minutes straight. Despite the lack of sleep, I could not adore her anymore than I do. My youngest has bonded with her in the most amazing way and she seems to have a wonderfully balanced temperament--loves to play but she is soothed quite easily. Treat's Honeymoon!

Our Treat just had Honeymoon with our new stud, Romeo.

I prefer to breed naturally, but there were weather restrictions to ship our girl to the stud especially this time of the year.

AI is an another option, but weekend and holidays are a pain...

We suddenly decided to purchase Romeo from a breeder in Australia.

Phoebe's Home

It was a struggle but she is finally here with us and we are loving it. She got in after midnight this morning(not on our planned flight)--we are all bleary eyed as we played for a little and then she despised her crate so she barked the entire night save for 45 minutes. my baby dexter & new grover boy

i'm so sorry for being gone so long. i've gotten a new baby doodle, YEAH!!!! but my dexter has blown his ACL in his back leg and i've been so stressed about the universe ever since. grover is such a blessing! he always makes us laugh and hes a snuggle-monster! he constantly plays with stewie, thank goodness! since dexter HAS to rest since his surgery. he doesnt like to rest, its so hard constantly telling him to calm down. i know my surgeon is going to clobber me when dexter has his 6-8 week… Continue

Still Waiting...8:30pm

There was a snag in the plans caused by the ice storm that hit AR so we are still waiting for Phoebe--she should have arrived at noon today. The new flight took her through Houston with a two hour layover. We are all wrecks here--but I am bouncing off the walls. Our visit to the Detroit Kennel Club Dog Show.

I've been wanting to go for years and was finally able to. Originally just Alyssa and I were going, but my husband got called into work this morning, so Aaron came too. He was less than thrilled, but did end up having a good time. We saw so many beautiful dogs! Some very fluffy, some HUGE and some very umm...unique looking.... Last summer we were on our boat and anchored out overnite the next morning Snickers and I went to shore collecting firewood.This boat came in with a dog on it no big deal (playmate) we thought. Snickers,loves getting new toys.When I come home from shopping she stands up at the counter looking in the bags seeing if there's anything in there for her of course there is.She is like a kid on Christmas morning happier then anything.She only plays with that toy for days.
