In my travels, I haven’t met many people who don’t enjoy birthdays and holidays, have you?
Speaking of birthdays – It is hard to believe that my little Harley Darley is a whopping 5 years old today…
Two weeks ago (seems like) he was just a pup! Scared to go down…

OMD (oh my doodle) this weekend was a weather nightmare for me! As my mother used to say back in the day when we lived in New York: “Jack Frost came this way last night.”
Up until this weekend, I had been “bamboozled“ by this incredible weather. Clear skies, bright sunny days with a mild to moderate breeze every now and then. “Sweater weather” the retailers called it. So when Mr. Jack Frost decided to “pounce” upon us, it caught me…

I have an older brother – actually he’s the oldest, and he lives approx. 9 hours south of me. When I heard his VM Sunday evening, I looked at Harley and said: Guess who’s coming to dinner?…
His birth name is…

I have difficulty letting go of seasons!
Once all the leaves have fallen off the trees, and they dry up and go crunch under my feet, I must force myself to adjust to yet another change in seasons.
Right after the Autumnal Equinox (September) when the sun is directly over the equator, the sun’s direct rays shift into the southern hemisphere for the next six months as I struggle to accept that my summer is officially OVER.
“Indian Summers” in…

These are the sort of weeks I like, when they start out with Mellow Mondays!
In addition to being a FT Doodle Mom, my weekends can get rather hectic. I am active with the Senior Ministry in our church, and DH sometimes can be stretched pretty thin with his many social and civic commitments. This past weekend all our projects and activities seemed to collide, having us pulled in different directions for extended periods of time.
Rarely is…

Look at you!
Saw that title “True Confessions” and thought “hummmm” what on earth happened in“Doodleville?”
Curiousity got the best of you so you stopped what you were doing, clicked “read more”, and here you are.
Can’t say I blame you! I would have done the same thing.
Even though I didn’t cancel the NFL package, wreck the car or accidentally throw away a telephone…

This blog post is not so much about Leo & Harley as much as it’s about me! I have a fear of large dogs…
But here’s the twist – my fear isn’t for myself it’s out of concern for The Boys……

Thursday was a special day for one of our Little Rascals (that’s “doodle talk” for the children on the block that play with The Boys).
Thursday was Taylor’s Birthday…
On the way home, DH stopped by …

Tuesday to me is “the” most insignificant day of the week. It seems to get lost between Monday’s madness and “hump-day” Wednesday.
It just sort of slides by, and rarely carries any lingering fond memories with it. Except for this week. This Tuesday was “an extraordinary day!”
The weather – typical November – overcast, little chill in the air but no “biting” breeze. I loved it. It was not hot nor humid, yet you didn’t need a heavy…

I won’t bore you with the details of my camera woes (the best laid plans).
Suffice to say, there was a happy ending:
Now comes the hard part. I need camera lessons – self taught of course!
Lately we’ve been having simply pawgeous…

Although Halloween never seems to negatively impact these two…
It has been known to stress and scare the “doodle” out of some pets. So The Boys and I wanted to list just a few Halloween safety tips for your pets:
Beware of chocolate candies, they can be very…

Characters from the movie Toy Story, Captain America, A Race Doodle – (complete with saddle and jockey), just to name a few, joined Thing One & Thing Two for a good ole fashion Howl-o-ween Dog Party at Olde Towne Pet Resort.
It was a pawgeous Autumn Sunday afternoon – pawfect to spend with “anipals and furrends.”Harley and Leo were the first to arrive, and they waited patiently for their…

We’re nearing the end of the week, so let’s have some fun today, okay?
Have you ever noticed sometimes dogs look like their owners?
Well apparently it’s becoming a theory that some have named the “Doggie Doppelganger…

I have dogs. They have toys…
I really want to commit this winter to training my dogs to pick up their toys! Over the years I’ve heard many pet parents agonize about training their dogs to pick up their toys. It is ridiculously…

Okay – will someone out there pawease help me? Can you tell me where to buy costumes for large dogs?
The Boys and I called ourselves being “proactive” in preparation for their “howl-o-ween” pawty atOlde Towne Pet Resort. Twice a year, their furrendly furrends at OTPR co-host a doodle romp with Harley & Leo. This is our last one for 2013 and we have a…

This is our lucky Sunday! That’s right, tonight we’re your “Doodle Bloggers.”
It’s been quite some time since we’ve been able to contribute something. So when Leo eyed DM(Doodle Mom) “chillin” in the sunroom, he seized the moment. He got right up on her and said,“take it easy tonight, Harley an I – we got this one”...…

Harley & Leo have never been in a plane, which has made me wonder, if they could fly… would they?
This has been a debate with longtime anipal Col (RET) Richard Smith, who for decades, flew B51/B52 bomber jets for the Airforce, and has been a CIRRUS owner for more than 10 years……

When I found out the Assisted Living Facility where my mom resides was raising money for Alzheimer’s Research this weekend, I said “count me in.” Bake sales, car washes, I love a good cause.
I’m still trying not to look surprised when I hear the “come-back” response that always follows,“can you bring the Boys with you?”
I said “of course” and walked away a little deflated because I’m still “working through” accepting that…

What do you think? Can a dog ”change your life?”
I can honestly say I do not need to surf the web to answer this question. I don’t need to do research or check resources. In fact when I asked the question I was really making a rhetorical statement. For me, the answer is a resounding “yes.” I am comfortable basing my answer purely on what I witnessed not too long ago in my own home…
