5 months old

It's hard to believe that Kai is five months old! Our latest adventure was the dog beach in Long Beach. He wasn't sure what to think of it at first but then he loved it!

We just got back from vacation in Aruba. Kai spent the week at "camp". We use a place in El Segundo called Greatful Dogs. There are no cages (The dogs sleep on dog beds in rooms with a person and during the day the run around the facility, they even have pools for them!) and everyone their is so nice. Kai is four months old!

Kai has been home with us now for eight weeks. He has grown so much! When he arrived he was 6 pounds today he is 16! It's been a busy time here. He has gone kayaking, swimming, hiking and walking on the strand.

Now that he is four months old we have added the dog park and doggie day care to his list of things to do.

One month and loving it!

Kai has been with us for one month now. Things have changed around here! First there is the pool for his swimming pleasure. He is after all a California Doodle!

Where it was once Keith & Kathy at Starbuck's and walking on the Strand, Kai is now a regular in what people nicely call his Doggie Sling, really a front pack that keeps him away from other possibly non vaccinated dogs.

He has the potty bells down. :-)

Day 5 in the Kaidom (like a kingdom but minus the king and + the doodle)

Thanks everyone for all your welcome home wishes for Kai!

Kai has been home since Friday. We are having the best time with him! He has a playmate next door, our neighbors teacup poodle Daisy. They have a great time together.

He has two speeds go and sleep. There doesn't seem to be an in between. He is knocking on the doors and or his bells when he needs to go out. He is sleeping very peacefully in his crate with his Snuggle Puppy. He lays on his bed when we eat dinner and… Continue

Kai is home! :-D

Today has started out going so slowly and these last 7 hours have flown by! Alaska Airlines did a wonderful job taking care of Kai. We were worried they wanted to keep him. They kept saying how sweet he was and how sorry they were that their policy allowed them to give him water but not to take him out. He is doing awesome! 1 week to go!

This time next week Kai will be home. :-) Everything and then some is ready for him, at least we think so. Toys, leash, dishes, bed even a car harness (thanks Marley, Kelly & Cole for that) and my favorite thing of all a front pack of sorts for a puppy. 6 weeks!!

Here are this weeks pictures! It's so exciting to see how much bigger they are. Each week they seem to be cuter, how can that be, they were all so cute last week!

5 weeks down just 3 to go!

Our puppy is 5 weeks old! He will be home in just 4 weeks!! We have a very busy six weeks ahead of us. Move, prom party at the new house, puppy home, Mom coming for a visit, house party, more visitors.

Packing is going pretty well. Move in date is set in stone at June 1st. It will be good to get in and get settled before our puppy arrives on the 12th.

3 weeks old

Today was new puppy picture Thursday! It's amazing how closely the email gets watched when waiting for pictures!

Eyes open and looking at the camera. They are all so cute!

Our next big milestone will be when the breeder does the matching and sends us a picture of our puppy.

While my children & I have been blessed to have had many wonderful dogs in our lives, this puppy will be the first for Keith and also for his 17 year old son. I am amazed at how excited they both… Continue

2 week pictures

Well our puppy is two weeks & 1 day old. Only six more weeks of waiting. Seems like a long time. Their eyes are open although in the new pics only one is smiling at the camera. Still don't know which are boys & which are the girls. I sent an email to the breeder and asked but they didn't respond, must be a secret. Just 5 more weeks and we will know which one is ours. I will keep looking at Marley's pictures, that little cutie is our puppies half brother. :-).

1 week old today!

Our puppy is one week old today! I posted some new pictures of him. Just 7 or 8 weeks and he will be home, no problem right? Should go fast since we waited 3 months for him to be born!

Busy around here. I have started the long slow and often painful process of PT. I can't move my arm unless I am doing PT exercises for the next 6 weeks, no lifting of anything! UGH! Did I mention we bought a new house and will be moving around the 1st of June? Packing one handed should be interesting.… Continue

Happy Birthday!!!

We are so excited! Just received the announcement from our breeder. The puppies were born this morning at 5a.m.
Two females and four males! We are beyond excited! To think I'd only looked on the website once today for any news. Guess we better start some serious puppy shopping now! :-D

How much longer???

So, how many times can two people check a web site to see if puppies have been announced???? The answer is how many hours are there in a day? Nothing in the email yet & nothing on the website. This is almost as bad as being pregnant without the labor, weight gain & morning sickness! ;-) I'm expecting the puppy will bark back but, with 4 kids and three of those teenage boys, what's an occasional bark? Guess we will keep ourselves entertained by shopping for the puppy. :-)

shopping

i am spending way too much time at home. finally got out tomight for a little bit :-) as luck would have it we ate at a restaurant next door to petco. i took that as a sign that i should go shopping for the puppy. :-D bought a few toys and a bed. what fun! amazing what makes a person happy after they have been cooped up for a week! if the puppy is born on schedule only two days + 8 weeks to wait!

no more boring page

Decided I was tired of looking at our home page so I am attempting to jazz it up a bit.It's not like I don't have the time, this shoulder recovery is a slow process. Where did everyone go to get their templates? I also added a picture of us, not as cute as a doodle but I thought it was cuter then the silhouette. :-) Tweaking our home page keeps me from shopping for our doodle baby. a new group @ doodle kisses

We searched through all the groups today & didn't find one for puppies frm Manor Lake Australian Labradoodles so we created one. Within a few minutes of it's creation Kelly & Cole, who got their adorable puppy Marley from Manor Lake joined the group! Our puppy will be a half brother or sister to Marley, they both have the same sire, Kingston. We were excited about our puppy before, but seeing Marley and all of the adorable pictures of her is like looking at the future. We can't wait!!!

waiting for the breeder to tell us the puppies were born

We are counting down the days until our doodle is born. I've had dogs my entire life, labs, retrievers, weimeriners and german sheperds.Keith has never had a dog before. He is excited for what I keep telling him will be a life altering event. Every time he looks at my computer screen it has something "doodle" on it.
