A beautiful walk on a beautiful day today!

What a glorious day!  We are experiencing record high temperatures and sunshine.  It was perfect weather for a long walk along our city’s waterfront.  Mylie uses a gentle leader, but I don’t feel comfortable using it on her because she hates it and I am don’t like the feel of having her on it while Gavin is on a collar.  So I bought a martingale collar for her and started training her on it yesterday.  She did pretty well and was mostly good on it today.  There were many challenges for both dogs including tons of other dogs, people and squirrels.  I was particularly proud of Gavin who was awesome today!  Last summer my hands would be sore he would pull so much when we walked in this high distraction location (training has paid off).  We also met Gavin’s half-brother, six year old Bailey.  He was a bit smaller than Gavin and his coat was a bit straighter, but he was very handsome and a total sweetie!  Here are a couple of pictures:

 

This is the Bluewater Bridge which connects Ontario to Michigan (we are very close neighbours which is great for cross-border shopping) with the St. Clair river flowing beneath.

 

Looking north is entrance to Lake Huron looking all blue and beautiful today.

@Traci - Gavin and Mylie are unrelated.  Mylie is an American girl while Gavin is a Canadian boy.  I like the sitcom idea!

That sounds like the title for a new sitcom show...Two doods and a dude.  Or two dudes and a dood.  I'd watch it - especially if they were all as handsome as those in the picture!  You can tell the dogs are brothers!  I agree about the weather...it is crazy good.  I am just worried that it'll get over 100 every day in the summer!

Gavin is setting a good example for Mylie, two doods are going to benefit from all your training. Sounds like a perfectly great day. The doods look so much alike in these pictures. Our weather has been crazy we went from a blizzard to 60 degrees two days later. We went for a walk on that warm day but it was so windy we were getting sand blasted by all the sand on the roads. I am still picking little bits of sand out of Quincy's coat.
