A Year Ago Today - Update

A year ago today Jess continued his recovery at Mayo Clinic. We learned that his heart functioned at 20 - 25% and would most likely not improve due to the damage he endured. We really had no idea where he would be today.

Yesterday Jess enjoyed taking our Phoebe to the monthly Doodle Romp. Afterwards we took the pups to a Starbucks and enjoyed some coffee on the patio -- it was a beautiful spring day.

Jess is even back to work, but no longer functioning as a CFO. He has been consulting and working a few less hours. With some restrictions, Jess is enjoying life and functioning very well with the heart that the amazing team at Mayo managed to save. He had a defibrillator implanted last summer and that gives us peace of mind. Sometimes I think his energy level far exceeds mine.

We are so appreciate to all the doodle owners out there who have supported us on our journey. Phoebe remains his consummate companion, as all doodles, a great comfort.

Boy, it hardly seems like a year since we saw yo guys in the dog park - even then, I was amazed at Jess' progress. You guys are an amazing team!

So glad to hear that Jesse has recovered and I admired along the long recovery his strong will to fight. We all suffered with the whole Klein family last year and I am happy to read such wonderful news now.
