You know, all together I have a pretty well behaved dog. I can't complain! But last night... MAN... did he make me mad!

I had a dentist appointment yesterday so I got to leave work around 2:30... well I arrived home about 30 minutes early that evening because of this. I walked in the door and could tell that Dan was still asleep since he works 3rds as a police officer. I walked into the den area where we keep Remington's crate thinking that I was going to see my beautiful boy looking up at me with those adoring eyes of his. I guess I did find what I was looking for... but I also found that the brand new $50-$60 crate pad that we had just purchased him was ripped to shreds! No, I did not get a picture of this because I was so mad at the time, but now regret not doing so. He had somehow managed to unzip the zipper and then proceeded to rip the inside foam out! However, Remington still manages to look at me like he is the sweetest angel in the world! GRRRRR! lol... the funny thing is I still believe it!

After, I woke Dan up and cleaned up the HUGE mess my little angel had made we had a vet appointment to attend. This was the last appointment for his vaccinations so we were very excited! YAY! All went well. Remington got his shots including Rabies, toenails clipped, and weighed! We were so excited that he has almost reach the 30 lb mark at only 4 months! Hopefully he will keep growing. It was so funny though to see him there this time. He had a much more outgoing personality! His little tail was wagging so hard his whole body was shaking! And he was just so excited to see everyone. This was much different than previous visits because all the others he was much more reserved. Even Dr. Swengel commented on this. I guess all the work we have put in socializing paid off :)

All together is was a good day. Very eventful but good. And even though my little guy makes me frustrated some times... I've found I only love him more :)

Hmm let's see he unzipped the zipper and ripped the foam out..........the inside foam out. So, do you mean that the outer shell is intact and undamaged and all that you have to do is replace the foam interior; I hope?
If that's the case grrreat how gentlemanly of him to use the zipper to enter.
If not I guess it's just wishful thinking on my part.......you know " like the clouds with their silver linings", every crate pad has a foam pad which can be replaced.

He must have been nervous about going to the doctor's, if not for that I am sure have he would left the crate pad alone.

Ned unzips pillows and pulls the stuffing out! He only does this to pillows that zip. I put the stuffing back in and several days later...we begin again.

Also. the foam can be dangerous if ingested. Our dogs bed has a foam liner under the fleecy cover and he found it and destroyed it the day we bought it for him. No more comfy foam for him. My sister told me that if they ingest the foam it can swell up in their stomach. I would think that this would cause a pretty bad stomach ache or worse. My little monster just shredded it-he didn't seem to swallow any of it.

We use the soft sided crates and put the pad under the crate :) They seem to like the feel of the nylon like bottom of the crate with the added padding underneath, otherwise they are walking around with the pads in their mouths and using them as tug toys.

Awwww...that is funny...but not! Fenway is a shredder....anything he can get to shred....so I was reluctant to buy him a nice crate pad....but I finally did get him one of those fake sheepskin looking ones without any other filling...I already believed in my heart that he would destroy it....but I put it in there anyway. He has never tried to shred it. Everything else....anything else.....that belongs to everyone else...but he doesn;t mess with his crate pad.....smart lil bugger! =)

Wish you had pictures. I know it wasn't funny at the time but it will be. My doodle loves laying on cold surfaces too. His bed hardly gets used except by the neighbor's cat.

Yes, I have noticed the same thing. Remington loves sleeping on the hard floors more than anything! No I don't plan on buying another one... I will fix the zipper like you said though so this doesn't happen anymore. YIKES! What a mess, seriously!
