Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I'm a speech pathologist at two nursing homes, both which have fairly lenient pet policies. I always share stories about Holly with my patients and I've brought in pictures to show everyone how cute she is. Friday afternoon I found out two of my patients were going on Hospice
and weren't doing to well. I talked with the DON and got permission to bring Holly in to visit them. It was SOOO great! We ended up visiting with 7-8 of the residents, and Holly did very well. She didn't jump or bark. I was so pleased, and I think she really made the patient's day. It was also very good for her since I'm hoping as she gets older I can work towards making her a volunteer dog to visit other local nursing homes. She wasn't scared of the wheelchairs or oxygen tanks either. She really is a great dog and I'm so glad she's so sweet and so social. Just wanted to share this :).

That is great that Holly did well! I'm sure she made everyone's day. I'm hoping that one day my doodle can come to work with me too (I teach preschool special ed.). Way to go Holly!

That is so great that Holly brightened the day of so many seniors! We took our doodle Thomas to visit my father in law who is 92 at his residence and he also was a HUGE hit with the older folks. They really just seem to love animals don't they?

Hip hip hurray for Holly! and for Laci too, who must be a caring person and wonderful dog owner to have such a nice dog.

I can say when my dad was in the hospital not too long ago, a golden retriever came by to visit. My dad talked about that dog for quite some time. He passed away in December and I am so thankful he had the visit. It broke up his day and he truly enjoyed the experience.

How awesome! I love it when our Doodles can bring smiles to the faces of those who really need a reason to smile. Sounds like Holly is a natural Therapy Dog.
