Little Dood, Finley, Finnegan (Finn) ... is recovering nicely (cross post from DRC)

Little dood is recovering this morning from his traumatic snipping yesterday at the vet. He seemed to know something was up yesterday morning when I took him out to my mom's car; she was taking him since I had to work. He didn't want to get in her car and then when they got to the building he didn't want to get out of it. When we picked him up last night he was still woozy and unsteady on his feet but he walked along glued to my side, not really sure what was going on. We got him home and Clifford looked at him as if to say "Hey, there is a no return policy on doodles, what is he doing back here?" Little dood, on the other hand, has just wanted to follow Clifford around like a lost puppy. They both want to be close to me so I'm keeping very toasty warm as the flurries are flying in Michigan today. He has not been licking, we are trying it without the e collar since I will be home the rest of the week, and he has actually been content to rest - even though Clifford has chosen today as the day he would like to run and play with him!

My husband and son have said they could live with Finn (Finley or Finnegan) for a name which means fair haired in Irish; I've been trying it out on him but he answers better to Little Dood - although answering is not a problem since he is not usually far away from me. We've never had such a hard time deciding on a name!

As long as the two doods can come to terms with living together, I think this little boy has found his forever home! It's hard to believe it's only been a week and a half, we haven't even hit the two week mark when our fosters usually settle in; this little guy has been comfortable here since the first night...when he started to sneak into my heart.

I hope Little Dood is feeling better really soon!

I so hope it all works out and Clifford can accept him. I'm sure as time goes on, Clifford would be lost without a buddy to be with. I really like the name Little Dood. How about Finn for his formal name but still call him Little Dood? We have tons of nick names for Gracie and her formal name comes out more when I really need to get her attention! Good luck...I'm sure it will work out.

I just thought of something. You already have a Clifford (Cliff Claven) like the postman on Cheers. Maybe this little guy is a Sam, Woody, or Norm :)

I am keeping my fingers crossed that the two doods can live together in harmony. I like the name Finnegan.

Seems like you found a gem. I like Truman but then I liked Plain Speaking about HST himself.

I'm "tearing all up" just reading this blog, Kim. I just have this sense that "Little Dood" was meant to be yours. Thanks...you just "made my day".

And the moral to the story is "The right dog finds you", lol! I know everyone here would love to see photos of Truman-Little Dood- Finn. Clifford, JD feels your pain, buddy, but you will always be Top Dog!
