Her name was Mama Mia and she was my constant and loyal companion for over 13-years who developed a brain lesion very suddenly. She could not stand, foamed at the mouth and did not recognize me! Thankfully she didn't have to suffer long. Judy and I were with her as our vet put her out of her misery.
It's a great loss but, I look around and our rescue dogs and think about all the other dogs we have saved and that seems to make Mama Mia's loss just a tiny bit easier. NOT EASY BY ANY STRETCH, just a BIT easier...
I still have my Holly as well as some of our other personal dogs.
BTW: please make sure that all of you have at least one good picture of any dog or person that you love!

So sad for you Richard. RIP Mama Mia.
So sorry for your loss.
And you are completely right about having a good picture. Of course, I've got plenty of my two doodles. I wish I had a nice picture of my dad, though.
So sorry for your loss, Richard. You do so much for our animal friends and we are all proud of you and Judy. That is a great suggestion to have good photos of people and dogs that you love, and I have many (probably toooo many). I try to have one special photo for each of my dogs printed up and mounted on canvas. We are currently working on Harpo's special picture. Here it is painted in watercolors with Photoshop. I can imagine the photos you have!
She is such a sweetie and it is always so hard to lose your heartdog. They just can't be replaced. But it was great that it was quick and you were with her until the end.
I'm so sorry for your loss Richard and Judy.
RIP sweet girl! So sorry for your loss.
I am so sorry to hear your sad news. Thinking of you.
Richard and Judy, I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful girl. She will always have a piece of and a place in your heart. I have no doubt she was well loved and had a happy life with the two of you, and in that she had all a dog could ever want or wish to have.
Sorry to hear of your loss of Mama Mia. It hard no matter the age, even when we know in our brains that they can't live forever, our hearts just don't want to let them go. She was certainly a beautiful dog and I know she had the best life possible with you and Judy.
