Because we live in a very rural area, I've always had a very difficult time finding a good dog sitter. Last year our only neighbor's girl friend moved in with him. She was great with the dogs. She would play with them, feed them, exercise them and then email me every day to tell me about it. It was the most worry free vacation I've had in years. Then I got the phone call. My neighbor tells me that his girlfriend has moved out and found another man. I begged him to take her back, to overlook her transgressions, to just let her live in the basement or something. He refused but said I could let her live with me if I could put up with her new boyfriend. Alas, Im not that desperate.
So if anyone knows of a nice girl, nice in a dog friendly way, that needs a place to live and a fairly nice boyfriend, I know just the situation. She also needs to be willing to take care of all of his chickens.

LMAO!
lol///
Hmmmm.... how old is he? :o)
Although I don't know that I am up for taking care of the chickens!
Oh this is a serious loss!!! You might check with Sherri of Sophie and Winston...nice, single, definitely dog friendly. I think she has a home though.. too bad...it might have been perfect...:)
What a bummer! Dog-loving neighbors sound ideal. Maybe your neighbor could learn his old girlfriend's talent with dogs or you could set him up with someone nice. sigh. Great dog sitters are hard to find.
Have you tried Craig's List? It seems to be the place to go to buy/sell/give away dogs....maybe this also holds true for dog loving girlfriends.
Let me see if my daughter will quit school (she's just a sophomore at Texas A&M) and come. Is the guy cute?? lol
Well.....my fingers are crossed that she's taken up with a guy in my neighborhood! ; -)
WOW BUMMER~I do hope that you can find someone to help out! Can't the neighbor do it for you since he doesn't have a girlfriend???
