Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
The puppies are four weeks old now and it is hard not to sit an watch them constantly. It is amazing to hold a little baby in my hand and look at his full sister, who is 14 months old, and realize that he will grow into this funny, sweet, smart, long haired boisterous dog, in less than a year. Their physical development just fascinates me. Being a developmental therapist for 32 years, I've done tons of research on developmental stages of puppies during the fist 8 weeks and beyond. Watching the amazing transformations of the pups from day 15-21 is truly amazing. Having a litter of puppies is such a huge responsibility and I find family and friends don't have a clue what is involved in raising healthy, well adjusted babies. Yes it is hard being mostly house bound for 10 to 12 weeks, but when I see and hear the joy that these guys bring to their families, it is worth every minute. If only I could get past missing each one when it leaves.

I would like to be allergic to poop too, but so far.....
I was up this morning at 6:00 to feed and take care of pups. My two grandchildren are here and popped up when they heard me getting up. I said,"great, you guys can help me clean up the puppy pen while they are eating". My 4 year old Grandson said, "No, that's ok, I'm allergic to poop".
So adorable! I think that you are great for raising these wonderful dogs to bless others with the love of a doodle!
I think raising a litter of pups with the momma dog would be a hugely rewarding experience.... I am thankful for all the hard work and dedication responsible breeders (like Shelby's breeder) put in to raising pups so they are well socialized little fur friends!
I'm with F on this one a couple of hours would be lovely ; )
Beautiful pup!
Adorable photo!
I am an accountant and I was fascinated with the development of a puppy (I wasn't blessed with children) and Rua was my first puppy. I printed out and studied what happened in each stage and remembered when I was warning my DH not to take Rua out back without being on her leash (no fence) because one of these days she was going to bolt. He didn't believe me...until she did. He was lucky I let HIM back into the house.
Adorable puppies. I would love to have a batch for an hour or two : )
