Stranded without my Doodle

Last Thursday I dropped Rooney off at his pet sitter for his first ever overnight. I needed to fly early on Friday to help my daughter pack up her home as she is relocating to Atlanta. I planned to fly home today, Monday. I cried when I dropped Rooney off, I knew he would be happy with Linda - he stays during the day sometimes if I golf but I'd never left him for a night let alone 4 nights. Well I got to MI and every thing went well, we got things packed and loaded in a day with lots of help so when I heard the weather was taking a bad turn and I had to drive DH to the airport on Sunday - I decided to try to get outta here early to beat the storm. Was at the South Bend airport from 2 - 11:30 p.m. and neither of us could get out. Now I'm stranded in a blizzard in Michigan with out my Rooney Doodle. The sitter is being so sweet, and she adores Rooney but she is having to go buy him a bag of Orijen today as she is going to run out soon and who knows when I'll get home. Rooney - mommy is coming if I have to drive it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wish me luck - we are scheduled out on a flight tonight at 5:30 p.m. but it isn't looking good. Missing my boy :(

Hope you make it home safe.  If I'd read this earlier you could have come to our house and gotten a little doodle fix in with Clifford and Little Dood - we're only about 30 minutes from the airport (in good weather). Schools are closed again today, more because of the temps I think so I hope they can de-ice the plane for you and get you home to Rooney soon.

Update   Arrived at airport at 2:00 for a 5:30 departure to Detroit.  They decided to put us both on the earlier 3:30 flight that is actually scheduled to leave at 5:03 so that gives you an idea what time our actual 5:30 flight would leave.  If I don't make the 7:30 flight from Detroit to Fort Myers (once I reach Detroit - if I EVER make it to Detroit) then I am going to have to sleep over night in the Detroit airport.  I could get a hotel but I'm guessing that DH will make his later flight to Philly so I don't really want to be out and about by myself.  I'll gladly sleep on the Detroit Airport's dirty floor if it means that I get home to my Rooney tomorrow morning.  I still have a chance to make it very late tonight.  Say a prayer!

hang in there!!! Rooney has no idea that you should have been back already so he won't mind. 

I will be flying home on 12/31 from arizona to NYC and my biggest fear is getting delayed and missing New Years Eve with my doodle. AHHHHHH. These little furry ones have our hearts!

Jane, I'm so sorry to  hear you are stranded-especially without little Rooney!!  I hope you are able to get home safely soon!! I'm sure someone has a lot of Doodle Kisses saved up for you!!

What is important is that you Eventually Make it Home Safe!   When it is safe they fly.  It is not safe to walk right now here in the North East let alone fly. 

Let us know when you get so Sunny Florida.  Then--think of us all up here!
