Who knew that weeding could be so dangerous?? We don't put any chemicals on the backyard lawn because of the girls. Needless to say, clover and some other weed has just taken over. I hate them so I spend hours sitting on the lawn with a small trash bucket and pick the weeds. I happen to enjoy the quiet time - just me and the weeds.

Should be safe, right?? I wish I had pictures but since I don't, try visualizing this scene.

Me sitting on the lawn

Throwing the ball with Samantha

Charli is bored so she tries to get Samantha engaged to play

Charli finally gets her way and the girls do some running, wrestling and some more running. They are having a blast!! It is so sweet to watch.

Until...

their running is headed straight towards an unbeknownst to me. See where I am heading? - no pun intended. Samantha is app 70 lbs, Charli app 45lbs. The impact with my head and shoulders was not a pretty sound.

The moral of this story, 2 running, happy, playing doodles must be watched!

My headache is finally starting to subside.

glad not to be alone - seems that a lot of us doodle parents don't get out of the way of our doods fast enough.

Sue - TG  that semi didn't get any closer! Hope your knees heel fast - road rash is very, very painful!!!

Sherri - you have to tell Ms Sophie Bear that your head is not a great place to sit! WOL!!!

Lindsay - hope your DH wasn't made at your laughing at him! next time, I hope you have your video camera handy, I know I would be laughing also.

Jennifer - how is your neck?

Jane- how long did it take for the shiner to go away?

I think my new garden bag will contain a helmet - good idea Donna, wrist guards, need pads, cotton stuffing for my tush (not that it needs any more padding), a rear view mirror and maybe temporary fencing to keep me safe!

For those who asked - I am feeling better and thank you so much for caring! I wish the OCD would go away when it comes to seeing those weeds. I just can't stop myself from picking them! Anyone a psychiatrist? I think I need help!

Ouch!  Either 45 or 70 pds hurts when it is moving at the pace these doodles run! I was reading this while I am redressing my knees from a spill I took Sunday while walking my two and tripped over Bella. We were running across a busy street of  6 lanes and we made it to lane 5 and SPLAT!  Luckily I didn't do a face plant like I did 2 years ago when I tripped over Murphy.  My knees took the brunt of it and I have road rash on a hand and forearm. I was amazed that I was able to hold on to the leashes and get up before the big semi truck got within 20 ft of us.  Yes, these doodles are not for the faint of heart!

oh those doodles. It's not the same, but apparantly lying on the sofa is also a contact sport. Yesterday Sophie sat on my head, which led to a wrestling match, which I lost. I think when it comes to doodles, everything is considered a contact sport - never let your guard down! I hope you got that weeding done in the end.

Oh no!! This happened to my husband 2 days ago.  He too was weeding against/under our fence in our dog's usual circling/running path.  Well, 80 pound Seamus was running full speed after little Stella and body slammed my hubby right in the tush.  lol I guess at least it wasn't his face or anything.  I have to admit, I had a perfect view of it....and it was pretty hilarious.  I know I wouldn't be laughing if it was me though.  Hope you're feeling better soon!!

Hope the headache is gone today.  Doodles seem to have tunnel vision when they are playing!

Oh no, I hope you feel better! Darwin isn't very mindful of where he's running, he actually hyper extended my knee once. No fun.
