when 3 doodles can spend their day changing the design of Mom and Dad's comforter? My response to my Mother when she said 'And this is okay by you?' was 'YUP! They had so much fun doing it! All it needs is to be thrown into the washing machine and I have a lifetime of memories'!!

Mine looks just like yours-and it has been washed once a week-cleans up fine. I keep a really nice one though to put on the bed when company comes!

I miss the baby's snuggling in bed so the Doodle girls have taken their place.

This is hilarious! You have some lucky doods :)
Peri is still not allowed on our bed unless it is Saturday morning...hmm...that may start turning into a more routine event though...:)

I have brown blankets and sheets. The Rottweiler will not get on the bed until given permission. Winston on the other hand thinks of my bed as his dog bed. The dogs sleep on the bed at night, but tend to stay out of the bedroom during the day, unless I'm in there. So I guess I'm lucky, not much dirt in my bed, just in the rest of the house.

Adina, no other dogs in our lives were ever allowed on the bed without permission. Our Beardie, Maggie, wasn't even allowed upstairs until she was a year old and didn't have full run of the house unattended until she was 2.
Boy have I changed in 30 years!! At this stage of my life, with all the things that have happened, a muddy comforter just isn't important to me anymore. It was years ago but not anymore. Not that I won't try and stop it next time - I am not nuts!! LOL

Moral of the story - keep Mom and Mother In Law out of the bedroom! I let my fingers do the shopping yesterday and ordered a navy blue down comforter from Kohls. Not cause of the muddy feet but because my comforter is about 15 years old. Needed a new one so might as well get dark!

Sue, Camouflage might be ideal.

Joanne...your post is so funny. A bidet and duvet mixed up! At least in a bidet, the dogs would stay cleaner. haha

What a funny time to have this discussion. I am looking for new comforter and sheets for our bed. This is the first time since we've had Murphy and I am stuck! I want it to be colorful enough to hide the dirt, washable and still pass the fussy husband test. Been looking for months. Silly me wanted teal and white in the bedroom.....NOT! How about brown and green to match the twigs and mud and grass stains the dogs bring to bed? Glad I'm not the only one that decorates according to "Dogs".
