So apparently Goldie at the fur off her tail. She usually has a nice lush lion tail but now it's reduced down to this. The bad part is that she is making hair ball hacking noises. This was no small…Continue

On Tuesday morning around 7:30 Goldie got into some nightshade. By noon she had expelled it all from her body through some massive vomiting and pooping. I withheld food for 24 hours but she kept…Continue

We lost our beloved Riley on Sunday. She was 14 years old and lived much longer than was expected. I had been preparing my 7 year old daughter for her passing for quite a while. But this has been…Continue

First, let me say I'd be lost without DK! There is no way I could take care of my doodle without this site.I'm pretty well armored for the Mat Battle 2013. I've got the Safari Dematter Comb, The Les…Continue

Tonight as my daughter played with her partner in crime, Riley, she looked up at me so sweet as could be and said "Why is Riley's hair coming out?" So we sat down and talked about why Riley's hair was coming out. I explained that Riley was getting older and that is part of the reason why she doesn't always have the energy to play like she used to. So she says "well that's ok because she's just my Riley Girl and my best friend" and then she said to Riley "I will help you girl, we'll make…

Before I tell my story let me start with this, I am ALWAYS ALWAYS very careful of Silverlyn and Goldie's interactions. They are ALWAYS supervised. They are NEVER left alone together, not even for a second. I preface with that because I feel so terrible about what happened tonight that I would expect some verbal lashings of someone indicating this is my fault...
Silverlyn and I built a tent in the living room. It started out as a great night. As she played in the tent I crawled…

I just cannot believe how much of a difference being a part of DK has already made for me. In just one week I took advice from a member to hire a dog walker to come mid day while I'm at work which has turned out to just be absolutely wonderful! My what a difference it has made! Then I learned that I've apparently been living under a rock as it pertained to foods so I took advice from the wonderful Karen and officially switched my little Goldie to a recommended brand. We chose Blue Buffalo…

My 2 year old looks at me and says "Mommy do you smell that? I think Goldie pooped. We need to find it" so we start on our mission. We use 'our sniffers' (as she calls it), sniffing throughout the house on the search for the hidden poops. 2 minutes in I hear a small tooting noise to which my daughter says "oh did you hear that. I think she's doing it again". Our search continues... shortly after there is another tooting sound but this time my sweet daughter says "Um mommy, do you know what…

Hi Star, of course I remember you. Nice to see you back! Hope you and Goldie are doing well.
The legs are the hardest part though!
Hey ... thanks for asking. I really wish I had the purple Les Pooch. But other that that I think we're doing okay. Basically I've just gotten in the habit of giving her a good brushing every day, no matter what - so it never gets too bad. Also my technique is getting better and she is getting use to it. At least I think so!
Hey Star and Goldie ... looks like maybe some great news! Check it out - last comments:

I am also a single mom of two kids 12 and 9 who have been dying to get a dog for the longest time. We are finally moving to a new house and like you I feel blessed to have happy kids, an ex I get along with, a job I like and a new house on the way. I wondered if you would comment where you got your dog. I am finding looking for a puppy challenging to say the least. My kids are golden retriever lovers and I would like something that doesn't shed quite as much so we started looking at golden doodles but they would really like one that is "not too poodle and not curly" Their words not mine. Any advice would be really appreciated :)
PS, sorry for missing that question in your discussion.
The Panacur works really fast to firm up the stool; but prior to starting it, a dog with giardia usually has poop like wet cement, lol. I had a foster with it, and he went about 10 times a day, woke me at night, and it was just like wet cement in color and consistency.
Maybe Goldie has had a slight bacterial infection that you didn't know about, and the Panacur is taking care of that, too? Not really sure.
Sorry, both the t3i and the t2i are part of Canon's rebel series.
Thank you very much Star! I have two cameras, a t2i and a t3i which are both awesome cameras!
You are so welcome and yes, I am the one in the family:) Just wanted you to know Libby and I were thinking of you:)
