Anyone have experience with a doodle eating part of a power cord? Luckily it wasn't plugged in. She somehow got it by reaching under a baby gate and tore up some of the outside casing and copper wires. We aren't sure how much she ate. I called the vet and they said it might pass with no troubles because it is chewed up, but to watch for lethargy, vomiting, and diarrhea.
Please let me know if this has happened to you and whether it required special attention or passed fine!
Thanks!
(She is acting normal now, but it only happened 2 hours ago)
I am sorry to hear that. you must be so worried. keep us posted. my Rosie was a big shredder as a puppy and I am sure she swolled plenty of yucky things but nothing ever got stuck and or was this dangerous. Hope she just passes it soon.
Been there, done that and ours was plugged in. Ned only did it once! He also ate the phone charger = plugged in of course. We were camping in our RV where nothing could be out of reach if it needed plugging in......
Sounds like Harper was having fun!
I don't think it'll be an issue either if it's chewed up already.
Maybe I'd feed her more food and let the pieces come out faster.
Maybe she didn't actually EAT any....I would just watch her for any signs of problems... even slight diarrhea and I would take her in. tori ate a teeny tiny screw once - we still have NO idea where she got it from... it was one like on the back of a battery-operated toy. She started getting mopey and had vomited only once and then acted fine and by the end of the night had had diarrhea streaked with blood. We took her to the ER and they kept her overnight and she actually passed it the next night. Hopefully everything will 'come out' fine. If she's eating, I would maybe give her some pumpkin if you have it to try and coat any wire that she may have swallowed. It will make for a "smoother" exit.... I would also be on 'poop patrol' to examine what comes out. Heck, Tori has eaten so much that it seems I am an expert at poop patrol - almost comes instinctively to me now - lol Good luck! I will be following! Hope your night is uneventful!
