F Parker, was right, it was his cedar bed. I purchased it at Costco several weeks ago and that is when the itching started, it just got worse and worse and worse as time went on, but I associated it with his new topper food that had beef in it.

I know Karen, the Jane's, Adina and a few other of you said the same thing that it didn't sound like a food allergy. For one, Orijen red meat does not contain beef, though his topper did, for two it was only on his belly and groin area where the hair is sparse.

I decided to add back the cedar bed the other day, just to see what would happen, the itching and licking came back with a great intensity. I took the bed away and no itching or licking.

I will try beef again on him in a few weeks if I want, but I am glad to know it was a topical reaction and not a food allergy. Thank you for all your help.

As a side note the aloe vera gel did really soothe his belly and calm down the itching but when he licked the gel he got diarrhea so I had to make sure he didn't lick it before it all got absorbed. Thanks again..

Good to hear Jennifer!
Glad to hear Jack is itch free :) Jennifer, You should know by now these Dk'ers are almost always correct!! LOL
Good news for Jack!  Tell him I feel his pain - I got the shingles vaccine 8 days ago - OF COURSE I have to be the 1 in 3 people that have a reaction.  Nothing serious - the 3 x 4 inch red welted spot is fading (finally) - now if it would only stop itching.  I'm going to go try the aloe vera right now!
Good news jennifer. I'm glad Jack is not itchy anymore.
Glad to hear that all is well and that my diagnostic skills are OK  : )
It's another episode of CSI: Doodle.  I'm glad the beef wasn't the problem.
Glad to know the cause has been identified and you don't have to worry anymore!
Good to hear that you figured it out.
Glad you were able to figure out the cause and so happy he is feeling better!
glad you figured out what it was!
Glad it was such a quick and simple solution to the problem! Fppd allergies would be a long drawn out one.Good job!
I too bought one of those beds from Costco and the minute I had it in our home, I had breathing issues and felt itchy.  Aloe vera works great.  Charlie Brown would not lie on the bed period, so back it went.  He now has a bed he just loves and it only smells like him.  We are glad to hear Jack is doing better.
