We had torrential rain all night and now it's merely raining. The electricity just wavered but remained on. No trees down although I heard things hitting the roof. The basement has a couple of inches of water. They say the rivers will crest and flood in the coming days. The reverse 911 warned us to stay off town roads which are flooded. It could have been much worse here and I hope everyone fared as well.

My biggest fear was getting the dogs out but Luca decided that about 5:30 pm last night was enough til 10:30 today. Then he was carrying on around the shed where the woodchucks live. Could they have climbed up inside or on the vines? I'm sure the burrow is flooded and he was barking towards the roof of the shed. I had to "lasso" him and bring him in. I was afraid he could get into the brook if the fence was weakened.

The brook behind my house is a raging torrent with white water. In places the yard slants, thankfully, toward the brook and I felt water running through my crocs. Let us know how you are when you can.

I love people who can make lemonade (although safety must be a consideration)!
Ha, still haven't heard from him, the little.... I heard people were body surfing. Would you believe there were 17,000 first responders from around the world in NYC for a convention, when this thing hit? Who would think it. The winds are really blowing again now, WTD? Back side of the storm I guess.
That truly would have been BOTH of my sons and their buddies!
Glad to hear you are okay F.
Thanks.
Hope everyone made it through the Hurricane safe and sound...and that your power will be restored soon!

Chris Christie: " New Jersians are TOUGH GRITTY PEOPLE"

Whatever that is supposed to mean.  Yes, but can they swim, Chris?

I did see Parker's mom, Adrianne, and Anna on earlier too.

The pictures on tv are scary - lots of flooding and trees down.  They are saying to STAY inside due to downed power lines and trees.  Stay safe everyone!
Happy that for the most part that all is well!

Hats off to Obama and FEMA

This time, this disaster, was conducted as should be.  Get all the departments involved: D.O.H., D.O.T.FEMA, etc.,  before the disaster arrives!   Lessons learned from Katrina for sure.  Good Job protecting what we value most. Human life.

Amen!
