We all have wondered when we first got our little puppies, how big they will be when they are full grown and I know I asked the same question about 2 years ago when Murphy was a pup and growing by leaps and bounds the first 5-6 months.

So here a lot of us are, 1 1/2 and 2 years later.....SO HOW BIG ARE THEY?

Did you or the breeder guess correctly?

Did the 4 months weight times 2  + approx 10 pd's formula work for you?

Is it what you expected?

Murphy's breeder, April, told me he would be about 60-65 pds when he was full grown, Mom was 60 pds, Dad about  45 pds.

 Murphy was 27 pds at 4 months old.  (27 x 2 + 10 = 54-64)

Murphy is almost 3 yrs old and has been aprrox 60 pds since 16 months old and has held steady at 62-64 pd's since he was about 18 months.

Show's you what April knows too :)

Bella's parents were about the same sizes, and April's guess is the same again 60-65 #'s.

Bella was 29 pds at 4 months.

And now at 14 months is about 60 pds. She still has some room to grow, but her 4 month formula would put her around 58-68 pds, so we'll see in a few months,

So they are both exactly what I was told and expected.

So how does your full grown doodle(s) weigh in?

Zack is now 2.5 years old, 29" and 91#'s. His mom is 45#'s and his dad is 60#'s. Our breeder estimated him to be between 50 and 60. There must be a strong grandparent gene hidden somewhere.
Wow that's a big difference. However some of Murphy's siblings have topped 100 pds. Same parents, same litter. Go figure.
They do seem to fill out in the chest as they get older. Murphy is too. Not overweight either, but I like them lean anyway.

I don't remember what my girls weighed at 4 months, but Lucy is now 49 and Ethel is 52.

My cousin, who supposedly has minis, weigh over 60 pounds.

BIG mini's!!!! I think those are called standards. lol
Just like with my children, I was so bad at writing any statistics down. I have no idea what they weighed at 4 months, but Vern is almost 100 pounds and Fudge is around 46 pounds.
Oh my, I always thought they were about the same size. Where'd I get that from? Fudge is half Vern's size. Bet she holds her own with him though.
Cooper weighed 25 pounds when he was 4 months old.  He currently weighs 49 pounds at 16 months old.  His mom and dad were both 50 pounds.  For us, he's the perfect size.  Although he's pretty positive he's small enough to be a lap dog!
Ha, Murphy just tried hopping in DH's lap over the weekend to sit in the drivers seat with him like he did as a pup. Didn't last long that's for sure!
Cooper is like Murphy - she was 27lbs at 4 months and now is 61lb (a couple lbs is perhaps fur!!!) at 2 1/2
Snicks was 22 lbs at 4 mths now at 2 he has been holding steady at 50lbs. Our breeder thought he would be btw 50-65. So relatively accurate. We thought though with his big paws and long legs he would be taller and bigger. However he is perfect in our eyes!
Amazing how skinny they look when we cut them short isn't it?
