I was at Petsmart the other day and found some Braided Bully Sticks that are all natural.  I checked the package and they only contain bull pillet (maybe) can't remember. They weren't cheap...1 package was 20.00.  The package contained 2 12" braided bully sticks...Bailey loved them but OMD...they stink to high heaven.

Anyone have any recommendations for "non-stinkie" bully sticks?

I know they have them, but have never bought them--maybe someone else will chime in--there are places online that members have mentioned that have Bully sticks that do not smell. Of course, dogs LOVE strong smells, so I just go with it.
they do make "odor free" ones.  Do an on line search.

I know the smell you're talking about... when Cocoa ate a smelly one I had to wash her face several times to get the smell out of her fur (it didn't bother her at all, of course!

This website had the odor free ones:

Personally, I don't give Cocoa bully sticks anymore- she loves raw marrow bones just as much, they last longer, and are cheaper :)

Where do you get the marrow bones from.  she does go through a bully stick really quickly.  I bought her an antler and she is not like it as much as bully sticks.

We have a "natural foods" pet store that sells them frozen... otherwise just buy them from your butcher.  Ask him or her to cut them so they're about 5 inches long (they're beef marrow bones that people sometimes put in their soup).  I buy several at a time and keep them in the freezer, and pull them out a few hours before I give them to her, but some dogs love right out of the freezer.

Cocoa has never had tummy problems from marrow bones, but eats up the bully sticks so fast sometimes she ends up with a bit of constipation.

Dumb question ...Do they have to be cooked or can they eat them raw?  Won't the marrow spoil if left out?

I buy Tara's bully sticks from the site that Leslie linked in above Best Bully Sticks) and they are odor free. When she was tiny someone gave her the type you are describing and OMG!! The entire house wreaked!!!

I give Ollie low odor bully sticks that I order on Amazon. They have practically no smell at all.
Thanks
Both my boys are bully stick addicts - we'd join BSA (Bully Sticks Anonymous) but they refuse to think that they have a problem.  LOL.  We buy the braided, Red Barn 9" bullys because the braided ones last longer and Red Barn are make in the U.S. from U.S. beef with no additives, etc.  They are expensive but poke around on line and you'll find places to buy them cheaper in bulk.  We just spent over $300 on a huge stash - ouch but I figure that it has saved my furniture from being chewed that price is worth it.  Some in the same package stink worst that others but after leaving them set out for an hour the smell seems to pretty much get minimal.  I am concerned about the "no smell" ones that you can buy - where they treated with something?  Bully sticks are after all dried bull penis muscle.  I store them in large zip locks and keep them in our refrigerator in the garage.  Rooney and Stuart do both love their boild shin bones but only get those if I'm leaving them home as their "special" treat.  Depending on the amount of marrow left in the bone these tend to give Stuart soft poops so it isn't an everyday thing.  Hope you find what works best for you.
Jane...Red Barn braided bully sticks are actually not USA beef.  If you check their website you will see the country of origin is Paraguay.  When you go to order if you will click on the picture of the product it gives this information...if you just add it to your shopping cart you don't get this information.  Just thought you might want to check it out.
That is correct and why I no longer get Red Barn. Best bully stick site does have some made in the US, but not all of them are, so look for US specifically onthe site
