Which do you use to walk your dog?

Plain flat nylon collar for us. Luna is a mini though - if she were larger I'd likely use a gentle leader or something similar.
I'll give you both sides. For my 90 pounder, we use the leash with a choke collar (no prong). He always responded well to it, although it did take A LOT of training. Now he walks like a dream. With my smaller 45 pound doodle, we use the easy walker harness. We attempted the choke with her and she HATED it and never walked well with it. She pulled to the point that we truly thought we damaged her trachea. We switched to the harness a few months ago and the change was literally instant. Try a bunch of methods and see what works best for you and your dog. I agree with the earlier comments though...if you do a harness, it must be one with the leash attachment in the front. With dogs of this size, you can't control them from a back clasp harness. Good luck!!
We started on the no pull harness and eventually used the easy walk harness they are great, but now we cannot find one to fit Chloe. We had one training class that said martingales are good to train with and another that had us use prong collars. The bad part is they can ONLY use prong collars because of the pulling right now. I would love to have them both wear the easy walk. well worth the cost.
Martingale collar or now a flat collar in most situations :)
This is an interesting discussion for me. However, I don't walk my dogs. Bexter walks me. When he takes me for a walk, he is wearing a choke collar and a leather leash. Even with the choke collar, he is known to pull at times. Usually he is good now though. Maybe I should try one of those harnesses?
You just have to correct him before he is at the end of the leash.
We use the Easy Walk harness most of the time. Monty just passed the Delta Society therapy dog evaluations with the harness. I had no idea what I was doing when we got him and we signed up for training that used no positive reinforcement. So the first day of the class the trainer got Monty fitted for a choke chain collar. That did not do much for the pulling other than shaving his hair off of his neck. So the prong collar came on. To be honest, having a 6 months old exuberant puppy, the prong collar helped me a lot to keep him under control. I never finished this training with Monty since it was like a Nazi camp and it did not go well with me. We signed up for a training with different trainer encouraging positive reinforcement. It was when we switched to Easy Walk harness for the walks. The dog (and I) learned a lot during the strict Nazi training, but we have not used the prong collar since. The harness usually works just fine. Occasionally I just walk Monty with just the flat collar, but I can see the difference. He is still pulling with the regular collar. I feel like the harness gives me a better control without hurting his airwaves.
