Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Our Sunday started out with the normal newspapers and Haley worked on his unstuffie and then took a nap.

Newspapers and breakfast are over and Haley wants to play ball.

DH tells him it isn't going to happen because it is raining. Haley's reaction:

DH tries to show Haley the National Weather Service radar on the computer but Haley won't look.

Haley's reaction to a rainy day.

Any suggestions for a possible 3 days of wind and rain and a doodle who likes to spend a lot of time outside playing fetch and can't play fetch in the house?

Poor guy. A good bone or chew will occupy Darwin for a while...

Those pictures are priceless!  At least Haley is trying to listen to his Daddy!

Can you borrow another doodle for a few days? My three are almost always wrestling---indoors and out!

We might be without power for a looong time, so that should be interesting--I might need to surround myself with my furry friends to stay warm! By the way, Haley has the most beautiful flowing coat--just what a doodle should look like.

My worst nightmare!  Bad weather and a dog that CRAVES exercise.  Stuart will chase his brother through our house, knocking furniture a flying.  Sometimes I take them to daycare (huge indoor place) so that they can wear themselves out when the weather is bad but this storm - well we are just hoping that everyone stays safe!!!!

The treadmill and Daycare will save us....we're apparently looking at five straight days of serious rain.

We have taken the dogs for a drive. At the price of gas that's not the best option I'm sure but it has helped with their boredom. Also a walk around Home Depot can be stimulating. It's not the same as fetch but way better than nothing. ;o)

Oh man, I feel you pain, whinny Daisy at my feet. DH just ran up and down the stairs over and over playing chase but the old guy can't do it too long - ha ha. Just got back from a quick walk in the rain for the potty duties, and still she stands and stares at the Chuck-it wand and ball in the umbrella bucket.

Poor things.

Ugh this one is making me so nervous (we're in central Jersey...very close to Raritan Bay).  We are trying to get our doods to romp outside tonight and they just don't seem to want to...I'm wondering if they are sensing something coming.  We have some good marrow bones ready to go for them inside... We will also be cooped up with our 6 month old TEETHING son...lol it figures!  Stay safe!!

I can feel for all you back there on the East Coast.  Here in So. Cal we are again 90 degrees and clear blue.  I don't think we will ever have a Fall or Winter this year.  Anyway, when we have those very rare days where we actually get rain I usually take a bunch of Gracie's clean tennis balls that have squeakers and wrap them up in tissue paper, old dog washing towels and put them in cardboard boxes.  She loves to dive in, shred and find them.  She will squeak and squeak them and then she uses the bath towels to cover them up and pounces on them and bites them through the towel.  This can keep her going for a while and then she falls asleep with a ball in her mouth.  Good luck everyone and stay safe!!

What a great idea Nancie!  Thanks sounds like fun for the Doodles and I "know" Libby would love it!  We live in California too, but when it rains up here she is just "so beside herself" when she can't go outside.  I will definitely try this one!  Thanks again:)

Well I gave in....Daisy and I were outside playing Chuck it for about 20 minutes. Wasn't pouring but it was raining. She's wet, not too muddy and happy. What do I care, now I have an excuse to sit in my pj's and drink hot chocolate and DH had paw duty.

It was totally worth it!

You are a better woman than I am and Haley hates rain and won't play in it.  If it is raining  too hard Haley won't even do his business.
