Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Hello all,
I've recently adopted a Labradoodle pup named Riley. She is a cute, cuddly, intelligent 18 pound, 6 days shy of 3 months old, ball of fluff and has become the perfect addition to our family.
I was told that her mother is a 50/50 Lab/Poodle and her father is a 50/50 Lab/Poodle mixed with a full Lab. (guess that makes dad 75/25?)
On to my question. I have been getting lots of comments on her markings/coloring being odd for a doodle, leading me to question the information I was given. She has a single coat and is (so far) non shedding. Everything I have read leads me to believe that doodles don't stray too far from the typical solid colors or certain patterns. I've scoured the internet and have been unable to find another doodle with her markings. Can anyone look at these photos and tell me if I was misinformed? It doesn't matter much, as long as she doesn't shed and keeps her sweet temperament around my kids.
Thank you!
Rhonda

Yes, I agree.. Also someone could have been a brindle poodle.
She is adorable! There are multi-colored doodles. Love her coloring!
I've seen Doodles with this type of coloring. I believe that it is called "phantom". You may want to Google phantom labradoodle and click on the images.
She is darling. That coloring is called a "parti" I think. I love her markings and face.
A cutie for sure! She looks like a particolor to me too--and as she gets older, the white parts may get greyer and the black parts may get some white hairs so that the differences between those areas are less pronounced--I have a black and white doodle and his black areas were solid black and the white areas were solid white when he was little --but now, at 2 1/2, white is getting some black mixed in and black is getting some white mixed in, so that he is more grey.
He has a very thick coat and does shed a bit--if her hair is thinner now, maybe it will stay that way and she will be a low shedder.
By the way, you can click on the photo icon at the top left in the tool bar and post your pics as part of the discussion.
Yes, I would say parti also. But a cutie! Her coat will probably change some, but change is great. Fun to see how she ends up. I would just say that she is a labradoodle and they come in all color and sizes.
Thank you for sharing photos of him, he sure is adorable!
I think she may get the same gray mixture as she ages. She has spots on her belly and legs that are already gray.
She is very cute and she does look like a doodle to me. She just looks like a multi-colored doodle. Although they are not as common as the solid cream, red, or chocolate doodles, they are not all that rare. If she has a sweet temperament, then why does the shedding matter? Hopefully she won't shed, but she might. I certainly hope that you will keep her regardless. Thanks for joining DK. This is a wonderful place with wonderful caring people who LOVE dogs. Welcome.
