How do you like your doodle to look?

Do you prefer a longer coat or short cuts. What about beards and tails? I'm curious about how people like their doodles to look.

I would say it's probably 2" all over in the bottom picture. The way the beard/moustache hair falls will probably depend on the texture of your dog's hair. A curlier coat will be more structured and puffy just naturally. 

I usually just tell the groomer to clip him to close to 1" all over, then he just grows out to look this way. I do the same thing when I groom him, just 1" or 3/4" all over, then let it grow out.

I love Darwin's "in between" look :) If we had a shaggy doodle his cut is the way I would go.

Clean is my only requirement :) LOL I love the shaggy look, but it is too much maintenance for me. We usually go shorter.

I like a medium length too. I don't really like long beards. I like the length in his pictures but it seems like it gets in his eyes. I'm trying to decide what I'm going to like when he is done with his coat change. That's one of the reasons I asked. :)

Well, that is quite a special pix of Brisby with the Parasol!! A definite entry possibly for the calendar!!?
I'm glad you asked the question. I love Brisby's "look" also. Not sure what we will grow into. DerbyDoodle is the same age, but looks like a lot different & less hair.
