Does anyone have any recommendations for toys for a hard-core chewer?  Preston destroys everything he can get his mouth on except his Kong, and bones from the butcher shop.  Rope toys?  Chews right through them.  Tennis balls?  Rips the fuzzy stuff off and then pops them, squeaky toys squeak for about the first minute we have them and then he destroys them.  We can't get stuffed toys because he rips and shreds them.  I did find a ball with tough rubber and a plastic ball inside that crackles when he chews on it, but he's already wrecked the inside plastic and now chewed a chunk of the rubber off.

I'd love to know what other Doodles are playing with and how well they hold up!

West Paw Design makes toys out of a material called Zogoflex. They are extremely durable and are some of Ragley's favorite toys. She is not a hardcore chewer, but she has had all of these toys for between 3-6 months to play, fetch, and chew daily and none of them shows ANY sign of wear. Also- you can keep the packaging and if one is destroyed, you can send it in with the packaging and West Paw will send you a replacement toy for free! You can get them on chewy.com!

I was going to suggest the same thing!  We have several of the Zogoflex toys and they are great!

We actually have a blog that we started about this very topic. We haven't reviewed too many toys yet, but we have reviewed some of Tenley's favorites. There is also a post up about toys that DIDN'T work for us.

Check it out!: www.tenleystoys.com

We have tough chewers here as well, and only have 4 different types of toys. Extreme Kong (the black ones) toys, West Paw Design toys (many different ones), Deer or Elk antlers, and balls (rubber). That's it. The doods seem to have plenty of variety and Oscar in particular is always carrying around a toy, everywhere he goes. The Extreme Kong and West Paw Design toys don't have a mark on them, they're that tough.

I will echo what everyone else has said..the only thing that works for us is west paw…and I love that you can clean them in the dishwasher..  We have had some success with a few jolly ball products..they last a few weeks :)

this is helpful, jace (14 mths) chews everything really fast unless it's his "baby" (a stuffed elelphant) the ONLY stuffed toy that he has not shredded. He just drags it around, flipping it.  Kong red or black is the ONLY thing he cannot chew thru.  He has chewed up a baseball, ate some of it and barfed. ugh!  Tennis balls he mouths because we play fetch with them so I think he somehow realizes that.

I will be looking at this site, because on rainy days he cannot get out to walk he has pent up energy and he just chews right through anything in a matter of moments. Thanks!

Dory destroys all of her toys, too.  The ones she can't destroy (like the Zogoflex ones) she's not interested in playing with.  I just get the cheap ones and let her have at 'em.  She loves ripping them up and she knows her boundaries so never tries destroying anything other than the toys I give her (with the exception of the bathmat).  Plus she doesn't eat the toys so I don't worry about the situation you had with the tennis ball.
