My delicious doodle is now 14 weeks old. He has proven to be the smartest and sweetest dog around. Aside from being very mouthy still with our hands he is perfection. Now I ask you..... What's to come of his crazy coat?!?! He looks like he stuck a paw in an electrical socket!!!! :)
He's and F1b and shedding like Crazy!!! What's happening? I'm posting from a smart phone so hopefully the pictures post!!

Annabelle is an f1b and had a crazy flyaway coat in her early months, she looked like Einstein. She didn't shed though. She matted when her new coat started to come in so I had her shaved down. Her new coat is a lot curlier and courser. This is her at 10 weeks.

Your doodle is adorable. No one can really predict the final coat but most likely he will shed.

My Murphy looked like Annabelle at the same age and I cut her flyaways off with a scissor cut pretty early on. He doesn't shed though either, but it did help him look less "electrified". lol  Sounds like you might have a shedder, but still too early to tell and probably still not as much as your average Golden Retriever would. Just get him used to grooming now so you can keep up with it all. Shedding isn't always a bad thing, because those that don't tend to mat more easily so more brushing involved.

Cooper is adorable and that type of coat is one of my favorites. I love the "paw in the light socket" look :) LOL

I attached a picture of my boys, Moose is the little one in the front and his coat always looks like a hot mess, he sheds too. Loki my older doodle was the same way when he was a puppy. he shed like crazy and looked crazy until around a year and then the shedding stopped. Actually the both of them have shed since I picked them up, Loki until his adult coat grew in and who knows what will become of Moose. Loki is also in the picture if that helps for a comparison, he looked identical to Moose when he was his age. They are both F1's. Cooper is sooooo cute!!

Is he F1b (3/4 poodle or 3/4 golden)?  He rather looks more golden.  But he is darling.  I like that look.  Hang in there.  He will be just perfect.

Yes he's an f1b and I had no idea he was shedding until he sat on me in the car the other day and I was wearing black. Just wondering what he'll turn out like....his hair is so funny looking to me!! Here's another picture

Could improve after the puppy coat transitions to an adult coat at a year or so of age--in the meantime, I want to say that F1b does not guarantee that the pup will not shed--Yes, it can be more poodle-y and yes, you can have less shedding, but not always--your pup has a straighter coat that is more likely to shed. If you got to see the entire litter, there may have been some curlier or wavier ones and they would have less shedding. If your breeder did not advise you about that, they were not being honest with you.

He is adorable! And doodle coats change a lot!

It does look like it will be straighter, but he definitely will be doodley looking. He has all the facial hair. So cute!
