I love Ella, as Ella Fitzgerald is my all time favorite. I also like Emmy, Macy & Avery. Would love to see pics. I had Gunner's name set up to be Amos, which I loved, but for some reason when I saw him, Gunner just fit. You will know.
If she has "eye makeup" like Toby you could call her Maybelline! We should have nemed Toby Max Factor!
Just remember, she doesn't have to have a name instantly ..... you can take a little while and sort of see her personality and what fits her. We were originally going to have a Lucy and Ethel, but the blonde just wasn't an Ethel! It was probably 24 hours later before we decided on Sophie. I knew it right away, but hubby took a little while longer. So we just kept a list of any names that we thought of and tried them out on her. He finally came around and saw that she was a Sophie (and honestly that was with no pressure from me). I like Jane's suggestion though to combine the name that you and your daughter each like into Ellie!
When I choose my dog's name I like to find one that can be shortened or changed a bit to create a nick name because I always end up doing that. Plus I test drive it by yelling it really loud (in the house of course) to see how it sounds and rolls off my tongue... you know you will be using it that way often! Also if you have another dog already you need to pick a name that does not sound at all like the other one so they don't get confused. I am getting a new LB1 pup right after Thanksgiving and after much thought and "testing" I am going to call her Sydney... Syd for short. Other names I was thinking about were Fozzie (as in Fozzie Bear from Sesame Street), Aussie, Mia, Tilly, and Siena. Good luck and have fun with the new pup!
I have always liked the name Skyler, but since I have to pick a name my hubby also likes, I have never used it. It could be for a boy or a girl and it is actually becoming popular lately!
How about Ellie? That is kind of a mix between Ella and Lilly. :-)
Glad you posted this in a discussion, Linda. I knew you would get lots of good suggestions.
Pictures Please, It helps with a name. I do like Bella though ;-)
